  1. 1. Electronic Structure and Transport Properties of Carbon Based Materials

    Author : Anders Hansson; Gianaurelio Cuniberti; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular crystals; Organic crystals; Nano technique; Density-Functional Theory DFT ; Fermi; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : In the past decade the interest in molecular electronic devices has escalated. The synthesis of molecular crystals has improved, providing single crystals or thin films with mobility comparable with or even higher than amorphous silicon. Their mechanical flexibility admits new types of applications and usage of electronic devices. READ MORE

  2. 2. Electrical Characterization of Integrated InAs Nano-Structures

    Author : Gvidas Astromskas; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DLTS; Fermi level pinning; epitaxial growth; threshold voltage; nanowire capacitance; overgrowth; Hall mobility; GaSb; InAs;

    Abstract : This thesis analyzes the electrical properties of InAs nano-structures, that are integrated into different materials and geometries. The thesis describes integration related issues of InAs, the epitaxial synthesis of the InAs nano-structures and summarizes experimental techniques for analysis of electrical properties of the integrated structures. 3. 3. Low temperature specific heat determinations and calculations of the density of states at the Fermi level

    Author : Mats Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : .... READ MORE

  4. 4. Semiclassical Analysis of Super-Shell Structure in Trapped Fermi Gases

    Author : Magnus Ögren; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2008:Ögren;

    Abstract : This dissertation investigates the oscillation part of the level density for trapped fermions. Analytical so-called trace formulae have been known for the two theoretically important potentials, the spherical cavity and harmonic oscillator, since more than thirty years. READ MORE

  5. 5. Chemical Bonding of Hydrocarbons to Metal Surfaces

    Author : Henrik Öström; Anders Nilsson; Phil Woodruff; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Adsorption; hydrocarbon; core-level; spectroscopy; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Using x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), x-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) in combination with density functional theory (DFT) the changes in electronic and geometric structure of hydrocarbons upon adsorption are determined. The chemical bonding is analyzed and the results provide new insights in the mechanisms responsible for dehydrogenation in heterogeneous catalysis. READ MORE
