  1. 1. Mille-feuille Filter : A Non-woven Nano-cellulose Based Virus Removal Filter for Bioprocessing

    Author : Simon Gustafsson; Albert Mihranyan; Jonas Lindh; Kurt Brorson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; virus filtration; mille-feuille; downstream; nanocellulose; protein throughput; protein recovery; LRV; MVM; Cladophora; non-woven filter;

    Abstract : Virus removal filters, produced from synthetic surface-modified polymers or regenerated cellulose by phase inversion, are vital to the production of therapeutic proteins such as monoclonal antibodies and plasma proteins. Use of these filters is also one of the most expensive purification steps in the downstream processing of proteins due to high sales price and being limited to a single use. READ MORE

  3. 3. Functional Hodrick-Prescott Filter

    Author : Hiba Nassar; Astrid Hilbert; Alexander Meister; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inverse problems; adaptive estimation; Hodrick-Prescott filter; smoothing; trend extraction; Gaussian measures on a Hilbert space.; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : The study of functional data analysis is motivated by their applications in various fields of statistical estimation and statistical inverse problems.In this thesis we propose a functional Hodrick-Prescott filter. This filter is applied to functional data which take values in an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mathematical and Experimental Study on Filtration of Solid Inclusions from Molten Aluminium and Steel

    Author : Shahin Akbarnejad; Pär Jönsson; Dong-Yuan Sheng; Björn Glaser; Torbjörn Carlberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Filtration; Porous Media; Permeability; Water modeling; Fluid Bypassing; Stacked Filters; Ceramic Foam Filter; Monolithic Ceramic Filter; Alumina CFF; Particle Tracing; Aluminum Filtration; Steel Filtration; CFD; Alumina Inclusion; Filtrering; porösa medier; permeabilitet; vattenmodellering; vätskebypass; staplade filter; keramiskt skumfilter; monolitiskt keramiskt filter; aluminiumoxid CFF; partikelspårning; aluminiumfiltrering; stålfiltrering; CFD; aluminiumoxidinkludering; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Aluminum and steel have been the most produced metal and alloy, respectively, for many years. Their extensive use in various industries, their fundamental role in our everyday life, and their excellent recycling characteristics are the major driving forces for development of their production towards more sustainable processes. 5. 5. Processing Aspects for Improving Mechanical Properties in Aluminium Castings

    Author : Jonas Bäckman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Aluminium; microstructure; mechanical properties; gradient solidification; mould filling; filter; filter parameter; casting simulation; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The relation between the process and mechanical properties in aluminium alloys for castings has been examined. The relation was hard to define since the spread in data was severe due to defects created in the casting process. To avoid such defects a gradient solidification equipment was built. READ MORE
