1. Synthesis of bioactive natural products and analogues
Abstract : Natural products have until recently provided the only remedy for treatment of diseases. The development of modern chemistry in the last centuries has opened the door for tapping into the chemical diversity found in nature. Synthetic natural products, together with analogues, are an important piece in the puzzle towards curing many ailments. READ MORE

2. Functional and Modular As=C and P=C Group Motifs
Abstract : This work focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application projections of low-coordinated heavy pnictogen-containing (described by the generic letter E, hence E=C) phosphaalkenes (P=C) and arsaalkenes (As=C), with emphasis on the E=C group motifs. The work aims to understand their functional and modular character, reactivity, and potential applications by stabilizing, isolating, and characterizing these species in low-coordination environments. 3. Quaternized fluorene-based hydroxide exchange membranes and polymers: design, synthesis, and characterization
Abstract : In modern society, the consumption of fossil fuels has been increasing drastically, leading to significant emissions of carbondioxide (CO2), air pollution, global warming, and political and economic imbalances. This has increased the interest inrenewable and sustainable energy sources such as wind- and hydropower, solar energy, and in energy conversion by fuel celltechnology, and water electrolyses. 4. Organic Hole-Transport Materials for Perovskite Solar Cells
Abstract : Research on perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has undergone dramatic development since the first cells were reported in 2009, and the past decade has witnessed a significant breakthrough on their power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) from 3.8% to 25%. READ MORE

5. Mechanisms for Solvolytic Elimination and Substitution Reactions Involving Short-lived Carbocation Intermediates
Abstract : Solvolysis reactions of a range of tertiary substrates in largely aqueous solvents were studied in such respects as β-deuterium kinetic isotope effects, linear free energy relationships and stereochemistry.Solvolysis of the fluorene derivatives 9-methyl–9-(2´-X-2´-propyl)fluorene (1-X, X = Cl, Br, OOCCF3) involves a very short-lived carbocation intermediate.
