21. The morphology of polyfluorene : fullerene blend films for photovoltaic applications
Abstract : Polymer photovoltaic systems whose photoactive layer is a blend of a semiconducting polymer with a fullerene derivative in a bulk heterojunction configuration are amongst the most successful organic photovoltaic devices nowadays. The three-dimensional organization in these layers (the morphology) plays a crucial role in the performance of the devices. READ MORE

22. Carbon Nanostructures – from Molecules to Functionalised Materials : Fullerene-Ferrocene Oligomers, Graphene Modification and Deposition
Abstract : The work described in this thesis concerns development, synthesis and characterisation of new molecular compounds and materials based on the carbon allotropes fullerene (C60) and graphene.A stepwise strategy to a symmetric ferrocene-linked dumbbell of fulleropyrrolidines was developed. 23. Fullerene-like carbon nitride thin solid films
Abstract : The subject of this thesis is to establish synthesis-structure-property- performance relations for nano structured carbon nitride thin solid films. This material consists of bent and frequently intersecting nitrogen-containing graphite basal planes, where nitrogen plays an important role for the initiation of inter-planar cross-links and the induction of curvature via pentagon formation, much like in Buckminster Fullerenes - hence, the terminology "fullerene-like carbon nitride". 24. Studies of Charge Transport and Energy Level in Solar Cells Based on Polymer/Fullerene Bulk Heterojunction
Abstract : π-Conjugated polymers have attracted considerable attention since they are potential candidates for various opto-electronic devices such as solar cells, light emitting iodes, photodiodes, and transistors. Electronic de vices based on conjugated polymers can be easily processed at low temperature using inexpensive technologies. READ MORE

25. Voltage Losses in Non-fullerene Organic Solar Cells
Abstract : Non-fullerene acceptors have significantly boosted the efficiencies of organic solar cells (OSCs) in the past few years. State-of-the-art OSCs have achieved a certificated power conversion efficiency of 17.4%. READ MORE
