  1. 1. Method Development in Quantitative and Structural Proteomics using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

    Author : Charlotte Hagman; Per Håkansson; Jonas Bergquist; Jos Buijs; Michael Przybylski; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biotechnology; Cerebrospinal Fluid; Electrospray Ionization; Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry; Global Markers; High Performance Liquid Chromatography; Gas-Phase Exchange; Hydrogen Deuterium Exchange; Plasma; Protoemics; Quantification; Structural Elucidation; Bioteknik; Bioengineering; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, methods for studying different aspects of proteomics were developed with Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance, (FTICR), mass spectrometry. The FTICR technique provides ultra-high mass resolving power, mass accuracy at sub ppm level and sensitivity in the attomole region. READ MORE

  3. 3. Advanced computations and mass-spectrometric techniques to unravel the dynamics and interactions of proteins

    Author : Joana Costeira-Paulo; Erik Marklund; Lars Konermann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molecular dynamics; mass spectrometry; dihydroorotate dehydrogenase; alpha-synuclein; protein structure; ion mobility; electrospray ionisation; collision cross section; lipids; gas-phase hydrogen deuterium exchange; collision induced unfolding; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Proteins are an important class of biomolecules, involved in the metabolism, regulation, structure and transport in cells. Unfortunately, many diseases are caused by protein dysfunction. When proteins perform their normal function, they may interact with each other or change their conformation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Limiting processes in anion-exchange membrane fuel cells

    Author : Henrik Grimler; Göran Lindbergh; Rakel Wreland Lindström; Carina Lagergren; Marc Secanell; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; anion-exchange membrane fuel cell; hydrogen oxidation reaction; oxygen reduction reaction; water transport; physics-based modelling; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Fuel cells allow for converting chemical energy stored in hydrogen into electrical energy, with only heat and water as by-products. In a sustainable energy society, hydrogen may play an important role due to its ability to act both as an energy carrier and as a valuable chemical in the process industry. READ MORE

  5. 5. Birefringences and X-ray absorption from relativistic and nonrelativistic quantum chemical methods

    Author : Ulf Ekström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Application of quantum chemical methods for the prediction and interpretation of optical and X-ray experiments have been performed. X-ray absorption and X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy of pentacene in the gas phase has been studied using the static exchange approximation. READ MORE
