  1. 1. Negotiating the international waste trade : a discourse analysis

    Author : Berndt H. Brikell; Sten Berglund; Rolf Lidskog; Gunnar Sjöstedt; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; International Trade; Basel Convention; Hazardous Waste Trade; Multilateral Negotiations; Discourse analysis; Multilateral Environmental Agreements; environmental discourse; Prior Informed Consent; hazardous waste; Political science; Statsvetenskap; Political Science; Statskunskap;

    Abstract : This study investigates the historic development of the management of the international hazardous waste (HW) trade problem, between 1972 and 2000. The method used in the study is discourse analysis, and it is undertaken through the usage of two different perspectives. READ MORE

  2. 2. Fundamental Control Performance Limitations for Interarea Oscillation Damping and Frequency Stability

    Author : Joakim Björk; Karl H. Johansson; Lennart Harnefors; Joe H. Chow; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power system control; HVDC transmission control; interarea oscillations; power oscillation damping; small-signal stability; fundamental control limitations; frequency stability; hydro power; wind power; non-minimum phase; zero dynamics; eigenvalue analysis; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : With the transition towards renewable energy and the deregulation of the electricity markets, the power system is changing. Growing electricity demand and more intermittent power production increase the need for transfer capacity. Lower inertia levels due to a higher share of renewables increase the need for fast frequency reserves (FFR). READ MORE

  3. 3. Radio Resource Allocation and Utilization in Multiple Radio Access Networks

    Author : Georgios Koudouridis; Gunnar Karlsson; Frank H. P. Fitzek; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Meeting in a sustainable way the demands of an unprecedented explosive growth in the number of connected devices and mobile data traffic, next-generation mobile networks are expected to make flexible use of spectrum and provide higher capacity by a denser deployment of radio access network infrastructure. In addition, the allocation and the utilisation of radio access resources should improve spectrum usage efficiency and keep energy consumption low, implying the capability to effectively exploit the denser deployment of radio accesses and the co-existence of radio accesses belonging to one or multiple radio access technologies. 4. 4. Empirical Studies on Merger Policy and Collusive Behaviour

    Author : Maria Jakobsson; Jonas Häckner; Robert H. Porter; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of four studies focusing on empirical issues in industrial organization.Bid Rigging in Swedish Procurement Auctions: Using a unique data set of procurement auctions carried out by the Swedish National Road Administration, this paper addresses the issue of bid rigging in the Swedish asphalt-paving sector. 5. 5. Analysis of manufacturing supply chains using system dynamics and multi-objective optimization

    Author : Tehseen Aslam; Amos H. C. Ng; Daniel Tesfamariam Semere; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supply Chain Management; System Dynamics; Multi-Objective Optimization; Technology; Teknik;

    Abstract : Supply chains are in general complex networks composed of autonomous entities whereby multiple performance measures in different levels, which in most cases are in conflict with each other, have to be taken into account. Hence, due to the multiple performance measures, supply chain decision making is much more complex than treating it as a single objective optimization problem. READ MORE
