  2. 2. Wind-turbine harmonic emissions and propagation through a wind farm

    Author : Kai Yang; Åke Larsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Renewable energy; Electric power system; Wind power; Power quality; Power system harmonics; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : The increasing demand for sustainable energy is one of the driving forces behind the increasing use of wind power by means of wind-turbines in electric power systems. Modern wind turbines commonly employ variable-speed-generator technology associated with a power-electronic converter as part of the grid connection. READ MORE

  3. 3. Control and Analysis of Pulse-Modulated Systems

    Author : Stefan Almér; Ulf Jönsson; Gilead Tadmor; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pulse-width modulation; Periodic systems; Stability analysis; Harmonic analysis; Lyapunov methods; Dynamic phasors; Harmonic transfer function; Switched mode power converters; Sampled data modeling; H-infinity synthesis; Optimization; systems theory; Optimeringslära; systemteori;

    Abstract : The thesis consists of an introduction and four appended papers. In the introduction we give an overview of pulse-modulated systems and provide a few examples of such systems. Furthermore, we introduce the so-called dynamic phasor model which is used as a basis for analysis in two of the appended papers. READ MORE

  4. 4. Dynamic Analysis of Harmonics in Electrical Systems

    Author : Erik Möllerstedt; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automation; converter control; modeling; linear time periodic systems; frequency domain analysis; harmonics; power systems; small signal stability; robotics; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Frequency domain analysis and design of power systems is complicated in the presence of harmonics, switching dynamics, nonlinearities, unbalances, and for systems with mixed ac/dc dynamics. The reason is that linearization of the system does not lead to a time invariant system, but a system with periodically time varying dynamics, which implies that there is coupling between different frequencies. 5. 5. Applications of Unsupervised Deep Learning for Analysing Time-Varying Power Quality Big Data

    Author : Roger Alves de Oliveira; Math Bollen; Sarah Rönnberg; Matti Lehtonen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; power quality; power system harmonics; electric power distribution; interharmonics; big data analytics; pattern analysis; unsupervised learning; deep learning; artificial intelligence; geomagnetically induced currents; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik;

    Abstract : Continuous power quality monitoring allows grid stakeholders to obtain information about the performance of the network and costumer facilities. Moreover, the analysis of continuous monitoring allows researchers to obtain knowledge on power quality phenomena. Power quality measurements result in a large amount of data. READ MORE
