  1. 1. High Resolution Transmission Spectroscopy of Exoplanets

    Author : Ansgar Wehrhahn; Nikolai Piskunov; Ulrike Heiter; Jason Wright; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; astronomy; spectroscopy; Astronomy; Astronomi;

    Abstract : A large number of exoplanets has been observed in the last three decades, but still for most of them we know comparatively little about the atmospheres of these distant planets. This is of particular interest as there exist types of planets that don't have an analogy in our own solar system, like hot Jupiters or super Earths. READ MORE

  4. 4. High Resolution Spectroscopy of Singly Charged Ions : Applications of Laser and Fourier Transform Techniques

    Author : Jonas Gurell; Sven Mannervik; Richard Holt; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atomic physics; Atomfysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis presents measurements of fundamental properties of singly charged ionic systems including spectral wavelengths, lifetimes of excited states and branching fractions with the main focus on time resolved laser spectroscopy of stored ions providing lifetime measurements of metastable states. The results of these measurements have been used to determine energy levels and transition probabilities of the studied systems. READ MORE

  5. 5. Precision molecular spectroscopy in the near- and mid-infrared using frequency comb-based Fourier transform spectrometers

    Author : Adrian Hjältén; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Adam Fleisher; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optical frequency comb; molecular spectroscopy; Fourier transform spectrometer; high resolution; mid-infrared; line list; double-resonance spectroscopy; difference frequency generation; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Absorption spectroscopy is a powerful scientific tool for non-invasive and remote sensing applications ranging from atmospheric monitoring to astrophysics. In spectroscopic detection schemes it is necessary to have spectral models for any molecular species to be detected or quantified. READ MORE
