  1. 1. Cellulose-water interaction: a spectroscopic study

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Erik L Lindh; KTH.; [2016]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cellulose; water; hydrogen exchange; deuterium; NMR spectroscopy; FT-IR spectroscopy; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The human society of today has a significantly negative impact on the environment and needs to change its way of living towards a more sustainable path if to continue to live on a healthy planet. One path is believed to be an increased usage of naturally degradable and renewable raw materials and, therefore, attention has been focused on the highly abundant biopolymer cellulose. READ MORE

  2. 2. Deuterium isotopomers as a tool in environmental research

    University dissertation from Umeå : Medicinsk kemi och biofysik

    Author : Tatiana Betson; Umeå universitet.; [2006]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; deuterium; NMR; isotopomers; CO2 response; climate reconstruction; persistent pollutants; stable isotopes; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Environmental chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Miljökemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the development and the use of quantitative deuterium Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR) as a tool in two areas of environmental research: the study of long term climate-plant interactions and the source tracking of persistent organic pollutant.Long-term interactions between plants and climate will influence climate change during this century and beyond, but cannot be studied in manipulative experiments. 3. 3. Method Development in Quantitative and Structural Proteomics using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Charlotte Hagman; Uppsala universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biotechnology; Cerebrospinal Fluid; Electrospray Ionization; Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry; Global Markers; High Performance Liquid Chromatography; Gas-Phase Exchange; Hydrogen Deuterium Exchange; Plasma; Protoemics; Quantification; Structural Elucidation; Bioteknik; TECHNOLOGY Bioengineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Bioteknik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, methods for studying different aspects of proteomics were developed with Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance, (FTICR), mass spectrometry. The FTICR technique provides ultra-high mass resolving power, mass accuracy at sub ppm level and sensitivity in the attomole region. READ MORE

  4. 4. Method and technique development in peptide and protein mass Spectrometry

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Kristina Håkansson; Uppsala universitet.; [2000]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; electrospray ionization; peptide sequencing; Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance; hydrogen deuterium exchange; protein structure; Materialvetenskap; TECHNOLOGY Materials science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Teknisk materialvetenskap; Molecular Biotechnology; Molekylär bioteknik;

    Abstract : Mechanistic studies and applicability of several methods and techniques for studying peptides and proteins with mass spectrometry are presented. A model for the protein molecular ion formation in explosive matrix-assisted plasma desorption mass spectrometry is proposed, involving a contribution from the chemical energy release during conversion of the explosive, an enhanced protonation through collisions with products from the explosive decay, and electron scavenging by other products. 5. 5. C–H activation through late transition metal cyclometallation. Addressing selectivity and reactivity problems

    University dissertation from Department of Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Mikhail Kondrashov; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; C—H activation; cyclometallation; pincer ligands; anion exchange; bimetallic complexes; oxidative functionalisation;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in English Synthetic chemicals are the basis of the modern civilisation. Nowadays, they have a bad reputation, but it is only due to them that we are able to live healthier, longer, receive improving medical treatments, use the comforts of modern technologies and not die of thirst and starvation, despite the immense population growth.
