  1. 1. Quantitative Laser Doppler Flowmetry

    Author : Ingemar Fredriksson; Tomas Strömberg; Marcus Larsson; Weindelt Stenbergen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Abstract : Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) is virtually the only non-invasive technique, except for other laser speckle based techniques, that enables estimation of the microcirculatory blood flow. The technique was introduced into the field of biomedical engineering in the 1970s, and a rapid evolvement followed during the 1980s with fiber based systems and improved signal analysis. READ MORE

  2. 2. Real-time multi-exposure laser speckle contrast imaging of skin microcirculatory perfusion

    Author : Martin Hultman; Ingemar Fredriksson; Marcus Larsson; Tomas Strömberg; Anne Heurtier; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multi-exposure laser speckle contrast imaging; Microcirculatory perfusion; Machine learning;

    Abstract : The microcirculation, the blood flow in the smallest blood vessels in the body, has a vital function as this is where oxygen and nutrients diffuses from the blood to to the surrounding cells. An important quantity is the tissue perfusion, a measure of the microcirculation’s capacity to provide oxygen and nutrients to the cells. READ MORE
