1. Explainable and Resource-Efficient Stream Processing Through Provenance and Scheduling
Abstract : In our era of big data, information is captured at unprecedented volumes and velocities, with technologies such as Cyber-Physical Systems making quick decisions based on the processing of streaming, unbounded datasets. In such scenarios, it can be beneficial to process the data in an online manner, using the stream processing paradigm implemented by Stream Processing Engines (SPEs). READ MORE

2. Silicon Carbide Microwave Devices
Abstract : This work deals with silicon carbide (SiC) microwave devices. It treats two devices; the Schottky diode and the metal semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET). Different MESFET materials, fabrication processes, theoretical models for physical simulation, and device models are presented. READ MORE

3. On the weightless economy: Evaluating ICT sectors in the European, Asian and African regions
Abstract : One of the most distinctive characteristics of the weightless economy is the increasingly important role of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors, which, according to the OECD (2009), consist of ICT products and media and content products. The ICT sectors have been identified as contributing significantly to the economy through production, measured by the value of the ICT outputs produced and the spillover effects to the other sectors, and the diffusion due to the higher penetration rate of ICT products and services and the impact of the end-users. 4. On Radio Frequency Behavioral Modeling : Measurement Techniques, Devices and Validation Aspects
READ MORE

5. Backward and Forward Nonlinear Optical Processes in Potassium Titanyl Phosphate
Abstract : Second-order nonlinear optical processes generate radiation across a broad spectrum, including UV and the far-infrared. In this thesis, new light sources in the near(NIR) and mid infrared (MIR) using three-wave mixing geometries in periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate (PPKTP) is studied. READ MORE
