  1. 16. Vertical III-V Nanowire Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors : A Circuit Perspective

    Author : Gautham Rangasamy; Nanoelektronik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-Power Electronics; Self-Heating; Steep Slope Devices; Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors; Vertical Nanowire; III-V Semiconductors;

    Abstract : The energy scaling of integrated circuits has reached its limit because the operating voltage of Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFET) based switches has reached its minimum value. MOSFETs are limited by thermionic emission and cannot achieve a subthreshold swing (SS) below 60 mV/decade at room temperature. READ MORE

  2. 17. Characterization of Small Antennas & Wireless Devices for MIMO Systems in Rich Isotropic Multipath & Random Line-of-Sight

    Author : Ahmed Hussain; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MIMO; Rayleigh; reverberation chamber; random LOS; RIMP; LTE; OTA;

    Abstract : The current thesis is about over-the-air (OTA) performance characterization of wireless terminals in rich isotropic multipath (RIMP) environment as well as in pure line-of-sight (LOS) environment while not ignoring the random positions and orientations of the mobile terminals due to randomness of the user. The latest mobile wireless terminals such as iPhone and iPad can be used in any random position and orientation thereby making the received LOS-component toappear as a random voltage at the antenna ports. 3. 18. Towards the safe-IOCOS relation -- On testing and correction of errors in an implementation to ensure safety

    Author : Adnan Khan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PLC; Safety; Supervisory control theory; Input-output conformance simulation relation; Model-based testing;

    Abstract : The technological advancement that has occurred at a blistering pace in the past decades has enabled manufacturing companies to conceive innovative products. However, to meet growing demands of consumers, manufacturing companies are expected to maintain a steady production rate without compromising product quality. READ MORE

  4. 19. Assessment of physical work load at visual display unit workstations : ergonomic applications and gender aspects

    Author : Lena Karlqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Gender; input device; physical load; VDU workstation.;

    Abstract : Local physical workload at visual display unit (VDU) workstations with different lay-out and computer input devices were studied among men and women. Word processing with keyboard only and a computer mouse were compared. READ MORE

  5. 20. Low-Power Delta-Sigma Modulators for Medical Applications

    Author : Ali Fazli Yeknami; Atila Alvandpour; Martin Anderson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Biomedical electronics has gained significant attention in healthcare. A general biomedical device comprises energy source, analog-to-digital conversion (ADC), digital signal processing, and communication subsystem, each of which must be designed for minimum energy consumption to adhere to the stringent energy constraint.
