  1. 1. Neutron induced light-ion production from iron and bismuth at 175 MeV

    Author : Riccardo Bevilacqua; Stephan Pomp; Magnus Wolke; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; neutron induced reactions; light-ion production; quasi-monoenergetic neutron beam; nuclear data; accelerator driven systems; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik; Applied Nuclear Physics; tillämpad kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Light-ions (protons, deuterons, tritons, 3He and α articles) production in the interaction of 175 MeV neutrons with iron and bismuth has been measured using the Medley setup at the The Svedberg Laboratory (TSL) in Uppsala. These measurements have been conducted in the frame of an international collaboration whose aim is to provide the scientific community with new nuclear data of interest for the development of Accelerator Driven Systems, in the range of 20 to 200 MeV. 2. 2. Collective Structure of Neutron-Rich Rare-Earth Nuclei and Development of Instrumentation for Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy

    Author : Pär-Anders Söderström; Johan Nyberg; Ayşe Ataç; John Simpson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nuclear structure; collective models; 150 < A < 189; AGATA; HPGe detectors; gamma-ray tracking; NEDA; pulse-shape discrimination; neutrons; neural network; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Neutron-rich rare-earth nuclei are among the most collective nuclei that can be found in nature. In particular, the doubly mid-shell nucleus 170Dy is expected to be the nucleus where the collective structure is maximized. READ MORE

  3. 3. The short, excited life of tellurium : Lifetime analysis of excited states in the Te midshell region

    Author : Ebba Ahlgren Cederlöf; Ayse Nyberg; Torbjörn Bäck; Johan Nyberg; Matthias Weiszflog; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gamma spectroscopy; lifetime measurement; lifetime; shell model; RDDS; DDCM; nuclear physics; nuclear structure; gamma spektroskopi; livstidsmätningar; livstid; skalmodellen; RDDS; DDCM; kärnfysik; kärnstruktur; Atomic; Subatomic and Astrophysics; Atomär fysik; subatomär fysik och astrofysik;

    Abstract : In this licentiate thesis, lifetimes of low lying excited states in the midshell region of tellurium isotopes are discussed. The nuclear lifetimes are interesting properties to study, since they are inversely proportional to the transition probabilities, which contain information on the underlying structure of the nucleus. 4. 4. Lifetime measurements of excited states in 165Lu and 107Cd

    Author : Karin Andgren; Bo Cederwall; Nicolae Sandulescu; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear Physics; Experimental Nuclear Strucuture; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Measuring lifetimes of excited nuclear states can give important information on the internal structure of the nucleus. This thesis is based on two experiments performed in Italy and in the USA in order to deduce the lifetimes of excited states in 165Lu and 107Cd. READ MORE

  5. 5. In-beam Study of Extremely Neutron deficient Nuclei Using the Recoil-Decay Tagging Technique

    Author : Baharak Hadinia; Bo Cederwall; Patrik Regan; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear structure; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : The low-lying structures of the extremely neutron-deficient nuclei 106Te, 107Te, 110Xe, 170Ir and 172Au have been investigated experimentally. Prompt gamma rays emitted in fusion-evaporation reactions were detected by the Jurogam HPGe array. READ MORE
