  1. 1. Population differentiation in Lythrum salicaria along a latitudinal gradient

    Author : Katarina Olsson; Jon Ågren; Susan Kalisz; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; additive genetic variance; clinal variation; evolutionary constraints; G matrix; genetic correlation; natural selection; pollen limitation; population differentiation; Ekologi; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Abstract : In this thesis, quantitative genetic approaches, common-garden experiments, and field studies were combined to examine patterns of population differentiation and the genetic architecture of characters of putative adaptive significance in the widely distributed perennial herb Lythrum salicaria. In this work, I (1) documented patterns of population differentiation in phenology, life-history, and morphology along latitudinal gradients at different geographical scales, (2) investigated the genetic architecture of phenology, flower morphology, and inflorescence size, and (3) combined estimates of phenotypic selection in the field with information on the genetic variance-covariance matrix (G) to examine potential constraints to adaptive evolution. 2. 2. Exploring symptom clusters in patients with lung cancer

    Author : Katarina Karlsson; Maria Larsson; Cecilia Olsson; Ann Erlandsson; Karin Ahlberg; Joakim Öhlén; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancer care; oncology nursing; patients with lung cancer; patient-reported outcome measures; symptom assessment; symptom clusters; symptom management; Nursing Science; Omvårdnad;

    Abstract : This thesis explored symptom clusters in patients with lung cancer before, during and after oncological treatment. A literature review and an interview study was used to explore the symptom cluster experience from the patients’ perspective. READ MORE

  3. 3. Unraveling the Socio-Technical Tensions of Performance Measurement in Public Welfare Organizations

    Author : Annika Hasselblad; Leif Olsson; Katarina L Gidlund; Aron Larsson; Karin Danielsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In the name of efficiency, performance measurement has gained traction in public welfare organizations. The idea of performance measurement originates from views of all organizations rooted in scientific management notions that emerged during industrialization, as kinds of production units, according to an industrial logic. 4. 4. Values Behind Welfare Technology and Their Possible Realization : Creation of a Technology Evaluation Method for Care Practices

    Author : Annika Hasselblad; Leif Olsson; Katarina L Gidlund; Aron Larsson; Xiu Gu; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : Care; evaluation; technology; values; welfare technologies.;

    Abstract : In 2018 the Swedish government approved a SEK 350 million grant to increase the municipal implementation and use of welfare technologies in areas such as health care, care, and social service. Welfare technologies have been criticized for their effects on care workers’ work environment, such as increased stress due to time and performance demands. READ MORE
