  1. 1. Heterogeneously Catalyzed Valorization of Monoterpenes to High Value-Added Chemicals

    Author : Mikhail Golets; Jyri-Pekka Mikkola; Evgenii Rebrov; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Catalysis; terpenes; alpha-pinene;

    Abstract : A potential industrial process is profitable only if it is successfully implemented by the continuously developing chemical industry. Throughout last decades heterogeneous catalysis has opened doors to the creation of various know-how products which previously were considered unfeasible. READ MORE

  2. 2. Removal of Micropollutants from Wastewater : evaluation of effect of upgrading ozonation to electro-peroxone

    Author : Majid Mustafa; Mats Tysklind; Daniel Ragnvaldsson; Lars Lövgren; Santiago Esplugas; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electro-peroxone; ozone; hydroxyl radicals; advanced oxidation processes; pharmaceuticals; QSAR; biocides; wastewater; removal; predictions; water matrix; activated carbon; sorption; regeneration; environmental science; miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : The United Nations (UN) has adopted 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) to achieve a clean, better and sustainable future. SDG 6 is to ensure that everyone has access to clean water and sanitation by 2030. READ MORE

  3. 3. Characterization of oxide-based catalysts and model catalysts for renewable fuels

    Author : Sabrina Maria Gericke; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis presents fundamental studies on oxide-based catalysts and model catalysts used for the synthesis of renewable fuels. The two investigated oxide catalysts are In2O3(111) model catalysts and NiMo-oxide catalysts.The In2O3(111) surface is studied as a model system for In2O3-based catalysts used for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. 4. 4. Optical Diagnostics for Quantitative Potassium Chemistry in Biomass Thermochemical Conversion Processes

    Author : Wubin Weng; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optical diagnostics; Quantitative measurement; TDLAS; Sulfation; Biomass; UV absorption spectroscopy; TLAF; Potassium chemistry;

    Abstract : Biomass is an essential sustainable and carbon-neutral energy source. Through thermochemical conversion processes, such as combustion and gasification, biomass can generally be used in boilers to provide heat and/or power. Biomass fuels contain varying amounts of potassium, chlorine and sulfur. READ MORE

  5. 5. Dynamics of metal oxides surfaces and the connection to reactivity

    Author : Micael Baudin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; metal oxide surfaces; single crystal; molecular dynamics; dynamical effects onreactivity; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Many interesting chemical and physical phenomena which take place on surfaces of metaloxides rely on the material's ability to repeatedly alter the electronic surface structure. Formost metal oxides this functionality is connected to the degree of non-stoichiometry andthe presence of structural defects. READ MORE
