21. Enrichment of biogenic and anthropogenic organic substances on sea spray aerosols
Abstract : The world’s oceans are the source of one of the most abundant types of natural aerosols, namely sea spray aerosols (SSA). By scattering solar radiation, SSA play a significant role in controlling the Earth’s radiation budget, while they are also involved in the formation of clouds, acting as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN). 22. Radiobiological effects of the thyroid gland - transcriptomic and proteomic responses to 131l and 211At exposure
Abstract : Radionuclides are widely used in medicine. 131I is one of the most employed radionuclides and is administered to patients either bound to tumor targeting molecules or as halide to target the thyroid or thyroid cancer. READ MORE

23. New methods for determination of airborne pollutants : Focus on tetrabromobisphenol A, organophosphate triesters and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis concerns the development and evaluation of new methods of sampling and analysis of organic pollutants in the indoor and outdoor environment. In Paper I, the development of a new method was reported for the determination of the brominated flame retardant tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) in air using sampling with glass fiber filter and polyurethane foam (PUF), ultrasonic solvent extraction and liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (LC-ESI/MS). 24. Improved analytical methods for perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) and their precursors – a focus on human dietary exposure
Abstract : Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are a large group of global environmental contaminants. They can be divided into two sub-groups, 1) perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) and 2) so called precursors, i.e. compounds that can potentially be transformed to form PFAAs. READ MORE

25. Developing tools for non-target analysis and digital archiving of organic urban water pollutants
Abstract : This thesis describes efforts to develop robust methods for the creation and use of digital archives of environmental samples, and proposes guidelines based on the results. Digital archives are repositories that store environmental samples digitally. READ MORE
