  1. 1. The roles of inner nuclear membrane proteins during interphase and mitosis

    Author : Veronica J. Larsson; Einar Hallberg; Neus Visa; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Samp1; mitotic spindle; centrosome; LINC complex; Lamina; Sun1; mitosis; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The nuclear envelope (NE) consists of two concentric membranes, the outer nuclear membrane (ONM) and the inner nuclear membrane (INM). The LINC (linker of nucleoskeleton and cytoskeleton) complex spans both the ONM and the INM connecting the cytoskeleton to the nucleoskeleton and chromatin. READ MORE

  2. 2. Characterization of the inner nuclear membrane protein Samp1, during interphase and mitosis

    Author : Veronica J. Larsson; Einar Hallberg; Katharine S. Ullman; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Samp1; LINC complex; nuclear lamina; MCLIP; nuclear envelope; spindle assembly; spindle stability; k-fiber; gamma tubulin; Aurora B; Haus6; Augmin; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The nucleus, a hallmark in eukaryotic cells, contains the genome separating it from molecules in the cytoplasm. The nucleus is surrounded by a nuclear envelope consisting of two concentric membranes, the outer nuclear membrane and the inner nuclear membrane, the nuclear lamina and nuclear pore complexes. 3. 3. Identification and characterization of nuclear envelope protein interactions

    Author : Balaje Vijayaraghavan; Einar Hallberg; Ing-Marie Nilsson; Bengt Mannervik; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Samp1; MCLIP; Nuclear envelope; Ran; Emerin; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The Nuclear envelope which surrounds the chromatin of eukaryotic cells contains more than a hundred transmembrane proteins. Mutations in some genes encoding nuclear envelope proteins give rise to human diseases including neurological disorders. The function of many nuclear envelope proteins is not well established. 4. 4. The functional organization of nuclear envelope proteins

    Author : Santhosh Kumar Gudise; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In eukaryotic cells, the nucleus is enclosed by a double lipid membrane, termed the nuclear envelope (NE). The NE consists of the outer nuclear membrane (ONM), the inner nuclear membrane (INM), the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) and the nuclear lamina. READ MORE

  5. 5. Multifaceted roles of the transmembrane nuclear envelope protein, Samp1

    Author : Mohammed Hakim Jaffer Ali; Einar Hallberg; Giovanna Lattanzi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear envelope; transmembrane protein interaction studies; cell differentiation; stem cells; myopathies; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The eukaryotic nuclear envelope (NE), separates the nucleoplasm from cytoplasm and is made up of two concentric lipid membranes, the outer and the inner nuclear membranes (ONM and INM), the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) and an underlying filamentous nuclear lamina. The INM contains hundreds of unique transmembrane proteins of which only a handful have been characterized. READ MORE
