  1. 1. Regulation of gene expression in the vascular wall

    Author : Erik Larsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : smooth muscle; endothelium; angiogenesis; SRF; myocardin; LPP; gene regulation; genetics; microRNA;

    Abstract : Blood vessel growth and function are closely related to a number of pathological conditions, including tumor angiogenesis, wound healing and atherosclerosis. Smooth muscle cells (SMC) and endothelial cells (EC), the two major constituents of the vascular wall, are both characterized by the expression of unique phenotypic marker genes, many of which have vital roles in blood vessel development and disease. 2. 2. Development and Application of ToF-SIMS for Clinical and Microbiological Analysis

    Author : Kelly Dimovska Nilsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ToF-SIMS; Imaging mass spectrometry; Antibiotic resistance; Basal cell carcinoma; Gas cluster ion beam; GCIB; Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry; BCC; Escherichia coli; E. coli; FabF; DapF; Lpp; Lipid A; ECAcyc; Depth profile;

    Abstract : The aim of the work of this thesis was to further the implementation of timeof-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) in biological analysis and to generate new knowledge from the samples analysed. ToF-SIMS is a chemical analysis technique. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of LPP-Burner for Industrial Gas Turbine Application

    Author : Jonas Holmborn; Strömningsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal engineering; Dry Low Emission DLE ; Lean Partially Premix LPP ; Combustion; Gas Turbine; Burner; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik;

    Abstract : This thesis reports the work done in the development of a modified Lean Premix Prevaporised (LPP) burner for the use in Alstom Power Sweden’s industrial gas turbines. Incentive for the development of the modified burner have been the need to increase the flame stability over the operating range for the burner, especially for the liquid fuel but also the gaseous fuel operation.
