  1. 1. The role of interfaces in oxide thin films

    Author : Tomas Liljenfors; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thin film; LSMO; EELS; grain boundary; BSTO; interfaces; LCMO; manganites; BTO; bicrystal; TEM; HRTEM; microstructure;

    Abstract : The role of interfaces in oxide thin films has been investigated from a microstructural point of view. Thin films of manganites and titanates have been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). READ MORE

  2. 2. Micromachined epitaxial colossal mognetoresistors for uncooled infrared bolometer

    Author : Joo-Hyung Kim; Alexander M. Grishin; Yael Nemirosky; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; La0.67 Sr; Ca 0.33MnO3 LSCMO ; La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 LSMO ; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Abstract : High quality perovskite manganites, La1-xAxMnO3 (A = Ca, Sr, Ba) are very attractive materials due to their great application potential for magnetic memory, uncooled infrared (IR) microbolometer and spintronics devices. This thesis presents studies of the growth and material characterization (including structural, electrical, magnetic and noise) of epitaxial manganite films on Si and GaAs. READ MORE

  3. 3. Pulsed laser deposition and nanofabrication of mesoscopic devices based on cuprates and manganites

    Author : Roberto de Andrés Prada; Vladimir M. Krasnov; Christian Bernhard; Taras Golod; Dag Winkler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cuprates; manganites; pulsed laser deposition; nano-fabrication; heterostructures; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the growth, the nano-fabrication and the study of the magneto-transport properties of Superconductor/Ferromagnet/Superconductor (SFS) structures from complex oxides such as the high Tc superconducting cuprate YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and the ferromagnetic manganites La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 and La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (LCMO and LSMO), deposited with the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique.The present work has been possible thanks to the collaboration between the “Magnetism and Superconductivity” Group at the University of Fribourg, in Switzerland, and the “Experimentell Kondenserade Materiens Fysik” Group at Stockholm University, in Sweden.
