    Abstract : Living matter is built on complex dynamic systems consisting of numerus biotransformations. By exploiting the adaptive and evolutive behaviors ofmolecular matter, dynamic chemistry has developed as an important tool tounderstand the organization of nonliving matter into complex living systems. 3. 3. Synthetic Transformations via Metal- and Enzyme-Catalyzed Dynamic Kinetic Resolution

    Author : Krisztián Bogár; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Romas Kazlauskas; Stockholms universitet; []

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the preparation of a new half-sandwich type ruthenium(II)- catalyst for racemization of optically active secondary alcohols and the development of a highly efficient method in combination with lipases such as Candida antarctica lipase B and Pseudomonas cepacia lipase for dynamic kinetic resolution of various functionalized alcohols under mild reaction conditions.It was shown that the RuCl(CO)2(η5-C5Ph5) complex can racemize optically active aliphatic and aromatic secondary alcohols at room temperature in rather short times. 4. 4. Dynamic Covalent Resolution: Applications in System Screening and Asymmetric Synthesis

    Author : Pornrapee Vongvilai; Olof Ramström; Benjamin Miller; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dynamic covalent kinetic combinatorial resolution; Self-screening; Transesterification; Amidation; Enzyme catalysis; Nitroaldol reaction; Secondary alcohols; Strecker reaction; Aminonitriles; Racemase; Enzyme catalytic promiscuity; Chemistry; Kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Bioorganic chemistry; Bioorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Combined thermodynamic/kinetic events amount to a kinetically controlled Dynamic Combinatorial Resolution (DCR) process, where the lability of themolecules/aggregates are used to generate dynamics, and the species experiencing the lowest activation energy is selected via kinetic process. Bothinter- and intramolecular processes can be performed using this concept,resulting in complete resolution and associated amplification of the selected species. READ MORE

  5. 5. Formulation and characterization of W/O nano-dispersions for bioactive delivery applications

    Author : Maria D. Chatzidaki; Aris Xenakis; Bert van Bavel; Werner Kunz; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nano-dispersions; encapsulation; food; DLS; EPR; Cryo-TEM; SAXS; pH-stat; digestion; antioxidants; gastric lipase; pancreatic lipase; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The main objective of this study was the formulation of food-grade water-in-oil (W/O) nano-dispersions based mainly on medium or long-chain triglycerides. Two types of dispersions were formulated and structurally compared, namely emulsions and microemulsions. READ MORE
