  1. 1. Melanophore signaling : regulation and application

    Author : Tony P. M. Andersson; Ethan Lerner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Melanophores are pigment-containing cells responsible for quick physiological color changes in lower vertebrates due to redistribution of melanosomes, pigment granules. We have studied melanophores from African clawed frog, Xenopus laevis. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Tactile Resonance Sensor System for Detection of Prostate Cancer ex vivo : Design and Evaluation on Tissue Models and Human Prostate

    Author : Anders P Åstrand; Britt M Andersson; Ville Jalkanen; Olof A Lindahl; E. Göran Salerud; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; elektronik;

    Abstract : Background The most common form of cancer among males in Europe and the USA is prostate cancer, PCa. Surgical removal of the prostate is the most common form of curative treatment. READ MORE

  3. 3. LiFeSO4F as a Cathode Material for Lithium-Ion Batteries : Synthesis, Structure, and Function

    Author : Adam Sobkowiak; Fredrik Björefors; Kristina Edström; Anna Andersson; M. Rosa Palacin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Li-ion battery; cathode; LiFeSO4F; tavorite; triplite; synthesis; performance; structure; coating; PEDOT; XRD; Mössbauer spectrocopy; SEM; TEM; electrochemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Abstract : In this thesis, two recently discovered polymorphs of LiFeSO4F, adopting a tavorite- and triplite-type structure, were investigated as potential candidates for use as cathode materials in Li-ion batteries. The studies aimed at enriching the fundamental understanding of the synthetic preparations, structural properties, and electrochemical functionality of these materials. READ MORE

  4. 4. Titchmarsh-Weyl M-function asymptotics and some results in the inverse spectral theory for vector-valued Sturm-Liouville equations and a certain higher order ordinary differential equation

    Author : Erik Andersson; Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Functions; differential equations; Funktioner; differentialekvationer; Paley-Wiener.; The generalized Fourier transform; A certain higher order ordinary differential equation; Borg-Marchenko theorems; Vector-valued Sturm-Liouville equations; Inverse spectral theory; Titchmarsh-Weyl M-function asymptotics; Asymptotics of solutions; Spectral measure;

    Abstract : This discourse is constituted by two separate reprots, where the first one offers an elementary deduction of the leading order term asymptotics for the Titchmarsh-Weyl M-function corresponding to a vector-valued Sturm-Liouville equation of the form -(PU')'+QU=zu, xin[0,b), with P^{-1},W,Q being hermitean with locally integrable entries; and under some additional conditions on P^{-1} and W. In the special case of P=W=I, we give some further asymptotic results for the same M-function. READ MORE

  5. 5. The role of subsoil properties for phosphorus leaching in agricultural soils

    Author : Helena Andersson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Phosphorus (P) leaching from agricultural land is a large contributor to eutrophication of many surface waters and the Baltic Sea. Better knowledge of P sorption and release in the subsoil could enable the development of effective mitigation strategies for P leaching. READ MORE
