1. Sample Handling Techniques in Biological and Environmental Applications Emphasizing Biomolecular Recognition and MALDI-TOF MS
Abstract : The use of restricted access media and other stationary phases for clean-up and trace enrichment of environmental samples coupled on-line to liquid chromatography using diode array detection as well as thermospray MS is described. This on-line configuration was compared with commercially available ELISAs for the determination of triazines in complex matrices, showing superior precision and accuracy with the chromatographic method. 2. Analysis of proteins related toautoimmune and inflammatorydiseases with focus on newenrichment methodologies and MALDI-TOF MS
Abstract : Proteins have been widely studied in biological sample analysis due to the association with diseases. In the present project, method and technique development was carried out on the analysis of two proteins, immunoglobulin G (IgG) and osteopontin (OPN). READ MORE

3. Sampling and Selective Detection of Peptides and Proteins Emphazing Microdialysis,Bio-recognition Assays and MALDI-TOF MS
Abstract : The use of microdialysis sampling and flow immunochemical detection as well as MALDI-TOF MS for peptide and protein analysis is described. Sampling of peptides and smaller proteins was investigated with different membranes. READ MORE

4. Improved mass accuracy in MALDI-TOF-MS analysis
Abstract : Mass spectrometry (MS) is an important tool in analytical chemistry today, particularly in the field of proteomics where identification of proteins is the central activity. The focus in this thesis has been to improve the mass accuracy of MS-analyses in order to improve the possibility for unambiguous identification of proteins. READ MORE

5. Interfacing HPLC with MALDI- and ESI-MS for Automated High Sensitivity Analysis of Proteins and Peptides
Abstract : The research described in this thesis has an interdisciplinary approach dealing with chemical, biological, and technical issues. One objective was to interface miniaturized liquid chromatography (LC) to mass spectrometry, i.e. MALDI-TOF MS and ESI-MS, in an unattended mode for high sensitivity determination of proteins and peptides.
