  2. 2. Experimental Study of De-icing Salt-frost Scaling in Concrete with Low-calcium Fly Ash or Slag : Influence of Drying and Carbonation, and Air Content

    Author : Martin Strand; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Betong; Cement; Beständighet; Tösalt-frost avskalning; Tillsatsmaterial; Masugnsslagg; Flygaska; Concrete; Durability; De-icing salt-frost scaling; Cement based materials; Supplementary cementitious materials SCMs ; Ground granulated blast furnace slag; Low-calcium fly ash;

    Abstract : In order to reduce the net climate impact of concrete production, it is necessary for the industry to undertake several actions. Among these is to include fly ash and slag as supplementary cementitious materials. Accordingly, this project has studied concrete containing low-calcium fly ash or ground-granulated blast-furnace slag. READ MORE

  3. 3. Everyday functioning in six year-old children born preterm : From a child perspective towards the child's perspective

    Author : Anna Karin Andersson; Lena Almqvist; Lene Martin; Katarina Strand Brodd; Eva Nordmark; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Children born preterm; everyday functioning; child s perspective; person-oriented approach; photo voice; Care Sciences; vårdvetenskap;

    Abstract : The overall aim of the thesis was to explore everyday functioning in six year-old children born preterm, from the children’s perspectives and from their parents’ perspectives. The relation between everyday functioning and neonatal risk factors, behavioural characteristics was studied with descriptive and correlational statistics, ANOVA and multiple linear regression (I). 4. 4. Quantification of Radiation Induced DNA Damage Response in Normal Skin Exposed in Clinical Settings

    Author : Martin Simonsson; Ingela Turesson; Gunilla Enblad; Dag Rune Olsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; DNA damage response; low-dose hypersensitivity; dose response; normal tissue; epidermis; dermis; keratinocyte; fractionated radiotherapy; DNA double strand break; DSB; foci; gamma-H2AX; 53BP1; p21; checkpoint; apoptosis; mitosis; micro-RNA; miR-34a; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Abstract : The structure, function and accessibility of epidermal skin provide aunique opportunity to study the DNA damage response (DDR) of a normaltissue. The in vivo response can be examined in detail, at a molecularlevel, and further associated to the structural changes, observed at atissue level. READ MORE

  5. 5. Dynamics in Protein Synthesis, Structural Studies of Translation Factors

    Author : Martin Laurberg; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biophysics; Flexibility; Fusidic Acid; tRNA; Translation Factors; Ribosome; Molekylär biofysik;

    Abstract : Protein biosynthesis is performed on ribosomes. The ribosome is a complex of ribosomal RNA and proteins forming two subunits. A messenger RNA strand is decoded on the small subunit by charged aminoacyl transfer RNA (aa-tRNA) molecules and each tRNA molecule delivers its amino acid to the growing polypeptide chain on the large subunit.
