21. Characterisation of integrin splice variants and the interaction between integrins and the urokinase receptor
Abstract : Integrins are a family of receptors involved in adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins and in cell-cell contacts. Each integrin consists of one a and one β subunit. Our main interest has been the β1 subunit and its splice variants. READ MORE

22. Intracellular processing of pre-a-inhibitor
Abstract : Pre-α-inhibitor (PαI) is a plasma protein consisting of a 25 and a 75 kDa polypeptide: bikunin and heavy chain 3 (H3), respectively. Both these polypeptides are made by hepatocytes and while passing through the Golgi complex, bikunin, which carries a chondroitin sulfate chain, becomes covalently linked to the C-terminal amino acid residue of H3 via its polysaccharide. 23. Neural Stem and Progenitor Cells as a Tool for Tissue Regeneration
Abstract : Neural stem and progenitor cells (NSPC) can differentiate to neurons and glial cells. NSPC are easily propagated in vitro and are therefore an attractive tool for tissue regeneration. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common cause for death and disabilities. A fundamental problem following TBI is tissue loss. READ MORE

24. Dried blood sampling and digital readout to advance molecular diagnostics
Abstract : A drastically increased capacity to measure large sets of molecular features in numerous patient samples in great detail will be required to fulfill the vision of precision medicine and wellness, which may characterize molecular diagnostics in the 21st century. Also sampling procedures need a renaissance to permit continuous sampling at population levels at reasonable cost. READ MORE

25. Adenovirus for Cancer Therapy : With a Focus on its Surface Modification
Abstract : Adenovirus serotype 5 (Ad5) is widely used as an oncolytic agent for cancer therapy. However, its infectivity is highly dependent on the expression level of coxsackievirus-adenovirus receptor (CAR) on the surface of tumor cells. READ MORE
