  1. 16. Thermal response test : method development and evaluation

    Author : Signhild Gehlin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : Since the first introduction of thermal response tests with mobile measurement devices in Sweden and USA in 1995, the method has developed and spread in North America and Europe. Thermal response tests have so far been used primarily for in situ determination of design data for BHE (borehole heat exchanger) systems, but also for evaluation of grout material, heat exchanger types and groundwater effects. 2. 17. Stable bromine isotopic composition of methyl bromide : Method development and applications

    Author : Axel Horst; Örjan Gustafsson; Detlef Schulz-Bull; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : The isotopic composition of ozone depleting methyl halides may provide valuable information on the sources and sinks of these compounds. However, so far mostly stable carbon isotope analysis of methyl chloride and methyl bromide (CH3Br) has been attempted. READ MORE

  3. 18. On-line Electrochemistry Electrospray Ionisation Mass Spectrometry : Method Development and Applications

    Author : Camilla Zettersten; Leif Nyholm; Per Sjöberg; Andries P. Bruins; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with studies of on-line electrochemistry electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (EC/ESI-MS). It is shown that the use of EC/ESI-MS demands optimal coupling characteristics. Pre-concentration and desalting, due to matrix exchange, were demonstrated for the model substance 1-hexanethiol in an EC/ESI-MS setup. READ MORE

  4. 19. Development and characterization of an in vitro method for interaction studies between polymers and pharmaceuticals : Aiding in the development of new drug delivery systems

    Author : Marcus Wanselius; Per Hansson; Magnus Bergström; Susanna Abrahmsén-Alami; Christian Pedersen; Anna Fureby; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Microgels; Subcutaneous administration; Drug delivery; Microfluidics; In vitro methodology; Method development; Biopharmaceuticals; Amphiphilic drugs; Polyelectrolytes; Hyaluronic acid; Peptides; Farmaceutisk fysikalisk kemi; Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Polymers are a group of macromolecules used in formulations of pharmaceuticals, one example being the delivery system DC Bead™. Further, some of the most abundant and for drug delivery important constituents of the subcutaneous tissue are charged polymers (polyelectrolytes), e.g. collagen, hyaluronic acid, and chondroitin sulfate. 5. 20. Service life estimation in building design : A development of the factor method

    Author : Björn Marteinsson; Christer Sjöström; Michael A. Lacasse; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction engineering; factor method; service life prediction; durability; degradation; Byggnadsteknik; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : The built environment usually constitutes a very important part of the real capital of a nation, and the construction sector represents more than 10% of the yearly Gross National Product of the industrialised world. Good planning of all construction is important, and consideration of the service life of the work is of great interest and is a significant aspect of sustainability considerations. READ MORE
