1. Selective extraction systems for detection and purification of membrane proteins
Abstract : Increased understanding of membrane proteins is important for characterization of biochemical processes. Improved membrane protein isolation methods is a key issue for effective functional and structural determination of the large amount of unknown membrane proteins. READ MORE

2. Structure and stability of liposomes : Interactions with micelle- forming surfactants
Abstract : The stability of phospholipid lipomes interacting with micelle-forming surfactants was studied under physiological conditions (150 mM NaCl and pH=7.4 unless otherwise stated) mainly by use of cryo-TEM and fluorescence. READ MORE

3. Polyelectrolyte - Surfactant Interactions in Dilute Suspensions. A Study Based on Monte Carlo simulations and Mean-Field Calcultations
Abstract : The complexation of macroions or charged micelles and oppositely charged polyelectrolytes was studied by the use of Monte-Carlo simulations and mean field calculations. The Monte-Carlo simulations were performed on a simple model system with the emphasis on the electrostatic interaction, (i) polyelectrolyte rigidity, (ii) polyelectrolyte linear charge density, (iii) surfactant tail length, and (iv) the polyelectrolyte concentration. 4. NMR studies of complex fluids and solids formed by surfactants
Abstract : NMR methods have been designed and employed in studying ofcomplex liquids and solids formed by surfactants. PGSE NMRexperiments are easily biased by convection; this artifact canbe avoided by changing the sample holder and by usingconvection-compensated pulse sequences. READ MORE

5. Prolonged Drug Release from Gels, using Catanionic Mixtures
Abstract : The use of catanionic drug-surfactant mixtures was proven to be an efficient novel method of obtaining prolonged drug release from gels. It was shown that various commonly used drug compounds are able to form catanionic mixtures together with oppositely charged surfactants. READ MORE
