  1. 1. MMIC-based Low Phase Noise Millimetre-wave Signal Source Design

    Author : Thi Ngoc Do Thanh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; millimetre-wave; MMIC; low frequency noise; phase noise; GaN HEMT; signal source; D-band; InP DHBT; deposition method.; SiGe BiCMOS; frequency multiplier; VCO; passivation;

    Abstract : Wireless technology for future communication systems has been continuously evolving to meet society’s increasing demand on network capacity. The millimetre-wave frequency band has a large amount of bandwidth available, which is a key factor in enabling the capability of carrying higher data rates. READ MORE

  2. 2. Compact and Efficient Millimetre-Wave Circuits for Wideband Applications

    Author : Lars Ohlsson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; resonant-tunnelling diode; millimetre-wave spectrum; integrated transmitter; energy-efficiency; compact circuit; dielectric resonator antenna; transistor; wavelet generator; wideband.;

    Abstract : Radio systems, along with the ever increasing processing power provided by computer technology, have altered many aspects of our society over the last century. Various gadgets and integrated electronics are found everywhere nowadays; many of these were science-fiction only a few decades ago. READ MORE

  3. 3. Reconfigurable and Wideband Receiver Components for System-on-Chip Millimetre-Wave Radiometer Front-Ends

    Author : Shakila Bint Reyaz; Robert Malmqvist; Anders Rydberg; Luca Roselli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Reconfigurable; Wideband; Receivers; Millimetre-Wave; Radiometers; System-on-Chip; Passive Imaging.; Engineering Science with specialization in Microwave Technology; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrovågsteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents solutions and studies related to the design of reconfigurable and wideband receiver circuits for system-on-chip (SoC) radiometer front-ends within the millimetre-wave (mm-wave) range. Whereas many of today’s mm-wave front-ends are bulky and costly due to having discrete RF components, single-chip receiver modules could potentially result in a wider use for emerging applications such as wireless communication, short range radar and passive imaging security sensors if realised with adequate performances and at a lower cost. 4. 4. Symmetric varactor frequency multipliers

    Author : Mattias Ingvarson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sub-millimetre wave; heterostructure barrier varactor HBV ; symmetric varactor; frequency multiplier; millimetre wave; semiconductor diode;

    Abstract : This thesis describes heterostructure barrier varactor (HBV) frequency multipliers for millimetre and sub-millimetre wave applications.The basic principles of HBVs are explained. Starting from basic varactor theory, an equivalent circuit model for HBVs is presented. READ MORE
