  1. 1. Modular long-span timber structures : a systematic framework for buildable construction

    Author : Anders Björnfot; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träbyggnad; Timber Structures;

    Abstract : One of the identified reasons for the low amount of timber construction in Sweden is a general lack of knowledge about timber engineering and how timber can be used to its full advantage. One way for increased timber construction is the development of a cost-efficient and easy to comprehend building system. READ MORE

  3. 3. The hygrothermal inertia of massive timber connstructions

    Author : Stéphane Hameury; Ove Söderström; Carsten Rode; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 1H MRI; Building simulation environment; Heat buffering capacity; Heavy timber construction; Indoor climate; In-situ measurement; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Building manufacturing engineering; Byggproduktionsteknik;

    Abstract : The work presented in this Doctoral dissertation concerns the ability of heavy timber structures to passively reduce the fluctuations of the indoor temperature and of the indoor relative humidity, through the dynamic process of heat and moisture storage in wood. We make the hypothesis that the potential offered by the hygrothermal inertia of heavy timber structures is significant, and that it could provide a passive way of regulating the indoor climate. 4. 4. Extensible Compiler Construction

    Author : Torbjörn Ekman; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; numerical analysis; Computer science; attribute grammars; extensible compilers; context-sensitive transformations; declarative object-oriented programming; kontroll; system; numerisk analys; Datalogi; control; systems;

    Abstract : Processing of programs is a core area in computer science. A compiler that translates source text to machine language is the most well-known kind of tool in this area, but there are numerous other kinds of related applications: source-to-source translators, refactoring tools, reengineering tools, metrics tools, consistency checkers, etc. READ MORE

  5. 5. The development and use of product platforms in single-family industrialized house building

    Author : Djordje Popovic; Fredrik Elgh; Tobias Schauerte; Carin Rösiö; Detlef Heck; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; House-building industry; Modern methods of construction; Production strategy; Platform-based development; Product lifecycle management; PLM; BIM; Engineer-to-order;

    Abstract : Single-family industrialized house building is a trade characterized by a complete predefinition of products with off-the-shelf solutions offered to a market niche. Limited customization is included in the offerings in the form of a modular configuration of predefined components. READ MORE
