  2. 17. Metamodel Based Multi-Objective Optimization with Finite-Element Applications

    Author : Kaveh Amouzgar; Amos H. C. Ng; Kent Salomonsson; Tobias J. Andersson; Johan Ölvander; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Production and Automation Engineering; Produktion och automatiseringsteknik;

    Abstract : As a result of the increase in accessibility of computational resources and the increase of computer power during the last two decades, designers are able to create computer models to simulate the behavior of complex products. To address global competitiveness, companies are forced to optimize the design of their products and production processes. READ MORE

  3. 18. Mathematical Modeling, Optimization and Scheduling of Aircraft's Components Maintenance and of the Maintenance Workshop

    Author : Gabrijela Obradovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Simultaneous Scheduling; Contracting Forms; Mathematical modelling; Maintenance Optimization; Workshop Scheduling; Multi-Objective Optimization; Mixed-Binary Linear Optimization Model;

    Abstract : This research concerns the simultaneous scheduling of preventive maintenance for a fleet of aircraft and their common components along with the maintenance workshop, to which the components are sent for repair. The problem arises from an industrial project with the Swedish aerospace and defence company Saab. READ MORE

  4. 19. Nonlinear Programming - Robust Models and Applications

    Author : Christoffer Cromvik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optimization; robustness; multi-objective optimization; stochastic mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints; conditional value-at-risk; IMRT; traffic network design; airbag folding; Origami; airbag folding;

    Abstract : The major theme of this thesis is nonlinear programming with an emphasis on applications and robust models. The thesis has two parts. The first three papers comprise the first part. Here, we discuss robustness properties of optimal solutions to a variety of models. READ MORE

    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial intelligence AI ; Life cycle cost LCC ; Machine learning ML ; Multi-objective genetic algorithm MOGA ; Risk-based life cycle cost LCC ; Tunnel fans; Two-level system; Operation and Maintenance Engineering; Drift och underhållsteknik;

    Abstract : Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the fields in science and engineering and encompasses a wide variety of subfields, ranging from general areas (learning and perception) to specific topics, such as mathematical theorems. AI and, specifically, multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) for risk-based life cycle cost (LCC) analysis should be performed to estimate the optimal replacement time of tunnel fan systems, with a view towards reducing the ownership cost and the risk cost and increasing company profitability from an economic point of view.
