1. Final-State-Resolved Mutual Neutralization of Li+ and H-
Abstract : We studied the mutual neutralization of Li+ and H- at effective collision energies of a few hundred meV, which corresponds to temperatures of around 2000 K, in the double ion storage ring DESIREE.We present a new approach to match beam velocities and a new general analysis method for non-fragmenting mutual neutralization at DESIREE. 2. Experiments on mutual neutralization using storage rings with merged ion beams
Abstract : This thesis presents work on merged-beams experiments using the DESIREE facility, which consists of two electrostatic ion-storage rings operated at cryogenic temperatures of about 13 K. The two storage rings have a common straight section, where oppositely charged ions can interact at sub-eV collision energies. READ MORE

3. Mutual Neutralization in collisionswith oppositely charged fullerene(C60) ions
Abstract : In this thesis, results from Mutual Neutralization experiment carried out atthe DESIREE facility, involving merged interacting ion beams, of oppositelycharged C60 ions are presented. This reaction may be of importance for explain-ing reliable estimates of the ionization balance in astrophysical environments, which defines the chemistry in molecular gas clouds. READ MORE

4. Reaction dynamics on highly excited states
Abstract : In this thesis I have performed theoretical studies on the reaction dynamics in few-atom molecules. In particular, I have looked at reaction processes in which highly excited resonant states are involved. READ MORE

5. Photo-induced molecular processes and charge recombination reactions driven by non-adiabatic couplings
Abstract : This thesis is based on a number of theoretical studies of molecular processes in which non-adiabatic effects play a crucial role. The main part is devoted to the photophysics and photochemistry of five-membered aromatic heterocyclic compounds, with particular focus on furan and thiophene. READ MORE
