1. VLSI aspects on inversion in finite fields
Abstract : Different algorithms and architectures for inversion in finite extension fields are studied. The investigation is restricted to fields of characteristic two. Based on a simple transistor model, various architectures are compared with respect to delay, area requirement, and energy consumption. READ MORE

2. Chemical basis of ABO subgroups
Abstract : Despite the ABO histo-blood group system being the most biologically significant in humans the chemical structures that define its various phenotypes still remain largely unresolved. Like all blood group systems there is a significant range in the amount of antigen present on the red cells of an individual and there exists a range of so-called “weak” phenotypes represented by decreasing expression of A or B antigens. 3. Cerebrospinal fluid infusion methods : development and validation on patients with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus
Abstract : Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) infusion tests can be used to estimate the dynamic properties of the CSF system. Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (INPH) is a syndrome signified by a disturbance to the CSF system, where the cause is unknown and the diagnosis is difficult to determine. READ MORE

4. Quantifying the quality of medical x-ray images. An evaluation based on normal anatomy for lumbar spine and chest radiography
Abstract : Optimisation in diagnostic radiology requires accurate methods for determination of patient absorbed dose and clinical image quality. Simple methods for evaluation of clinical image quality are at present scarce and this project aims at developing such methods. READ MORE

5. Thioredoxin system in normal and transformed human cells
Abstract : Background: Thioredoxin (Trx) and thioredoxin reductase (TrxR), together with NADPH, constitute the Trx system, a major antioxidant entity that helps maintain a reducing environment within living cells. Trx designates a family of proteins that are related on the basis of structure and function. READ MORE
