  1. 1. Nutrient and Organic Matter Dynamics in Beech Forest Floors, in Relation to the Presence of Ground Flora

    Author : Frida Andréasson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioavailability; mineralisation; soil acidity; soil matrix solution; soil leachate; nitrate; ammonia; dissolved organic carbon; beech; Ground flora; forest floor; O horizon; A horizon; Plant ecology; Växtekologi;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis was to quantify differences between adjacent patches with and without ground flora of Deschampsia flexuosa L. Trin or Anemone nemorosa L. in two acid European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) forest floors in south-west of Sweden. READ MORE

  2. 2. Porphyrin-Based Donor-Bridge-Acceptor Systems: Intrinsic Excited State Deactivation and Intramolecular Energy/Electron Transfer Reactions

    Author : Joakim Andreasson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spectroscopy; superexchange; mediation; energy transfer; porphyrins; conformational gating; conformational distortions; electron transfer;

    Abstract : Intramolecular energy and electron transfer reactions have been studied between porphyrin donor and acceptor moieties. The porphyrin units are covalently linked together by one of three different bridging chromophores to constitute the series of D-B-A systems. READ MORE

  3. 3. On Lorentz Invariance, Regularity and Global Existence for Kinetic Equations

    Author : Håkan Andreasson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : [A1] Regularity of the gain term and strong L1 convergence to equilibrium for the relativistic Boltzmann equation. The main purpose of the paper is to show that the gain term of the relativistic collision operator is regularizing. This is a generalization of P.L. READ MORE

  4. 4. Trauma Care - Implementation, Evaluation and Validation

    Author : Lina Holmberg; Kevin Mani; Fredrik Linder; Anders Wanhainen; Håkan Andréasson; Shariq S. Raza; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Trauma triage criteria; undertriage; validation; trauma registry; accuracy; trauma trends; penetrating trauma; mortality.;

    Abstract : Trauma is a major cause of death and morbidity in all ages, which makes continuous improvement of trauma care a high priority. During the last decades, Sweden’s trauma system has evolved with initiation of a national trauma registry (SweTrau) in 2011 and the Swedish National Trauma Triage criteria (SNTTC) in 2017. READ MORE

  5. 5. Nonlinear and Nonparametric Dynamical Methods in Economics and Finance

    Author : Gazi Salah Uddin; Bo Sjö; Ramo Gencay; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Commodity markets; Nonlinear causality testing; Dependence structure; Business cycles; Timescale analysis; Growth dynamics; Portfolio management;

    Abstract : The objectives of the thesis - which comprises six parts – can be summarized in i) implementing linear and nonlinear/nonparametric approaches toward detecting, measuring and analyzing the nature and directionality of causal relationships in financial markets, ii) elaborating on modern topics in financial investment analysis, iii) probing into the role of commodity futures in constructing optimal portfolios as well as iv) investigating growth dynamics via aggregated and disaggregated indices.The first paper named “Analyzing causal interactions between sectoral equity returns and commodity futures returns in the aftermath of the global financial crisis: The case of the US and EU equity returns”, aims to explore and compare the dependence and co-movement structure between commodity and various asset classes’ returns including the USA and EU stock markets via the use of linear and non-linear causality testing in a comparative context with the additional adjustment for cointegration and conditional heteroscedasticity.
