  1. 1. Specific language impairment: Neurophysiological studies of children and their parents

    Author : Marianne Ors; Klinisk neurofysiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SPECT; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; N400; P300; P3; N1; ERPs; event-related brain potentials; children; developmental language delay; Specific language impairment; language disorder; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi;

    Abstract : Specific language impairment (SLI) is commonly described as a condition where a child with otherwise normal development and hearing does not acquire language as expected. Children with SLI often have a family history of language disorders. The aetiology is poorly understood. READ MORE

  2. 2. Intracellular signaling of phosphorylated insitol compounds : a study in pancreatic beta-cells and hippocampal neurons

    Author : Jia Yu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : InsP6; L-type Ca 2 channel; hippocampal neuron; Ins 1; 4; 5 P3; Ca2 ; cyt-MIPP; pancreatic beta-cell; PtdIns 3; 4; 5 P3; Ptdlns 3; 5 P2.;

    Abstract : The family of phosphorylated inositol compounds consists of soluble cytosolic inositol phosphates and insoluble inositol phospholipids, localized in cellular membranes and the nuclear matrix. Although inositol phospholipids only account for 5-10% of total plasma membrane lipids, these compounds and their inositol phosphate derivatives play an important role in a broad range of cellular processes including intracellular Ca 2+ signalling, ion channel regulation, vesicle trafficking, both exo- and endocytosis, cell growth and apoptosis. 3. 3. Design and Synthesis of Acyclic and Macrocyclic Peptidomimetics as Inhibitors of the Hepatitis C Virus NS3 Protease

    Author : Anna Lampa; Anja Sandström; Youla Tsantrizos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hepatitis C virus; HCV; NS3 protease inhibitor; structure-activity relationship; phenylglycine; ring-closing metathesis; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : Hepatitis C is a blood-borne disease affecting 130-170 million people worldwide. The causative agent, hepatitis C virus (HCV), infects the liver and is the major reason for chronic liver disease worldwide. The HCV NS3 protease, a key enzyme in the virus replication cycle, has been confirmed to be an important target for drug development. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design and Synthesis of Inhibitors Targeting BACE-1, an Aspartic Protease Involved in the Pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s Disease

    Author : Veronica Sandgren; Ingemar Kvarnström; Bertil Samuelsson; Thomas Olsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia, occurring in an estimated 24 million people worldwide. Accumulation of amyloid-b peptides leads to development of plaques in the brain, which eventually stimulates hyperphosphorylation of tau proteins leading to tangles. This is believed to play a crucial role in the pathology of AD. READ MORE

  5. 5. Challenges in Partially Automated Driving : A Human Factors Perspective

    Author : Ignacio Solís Marcos; Katja Kircher; Alejandro Galvao; Tuomo Kujala; Linköpings universitet; []
