11. Assessment of human exposure to per- and polyfluorinated compounds (PFCs) : exposure through food, drinking water, house dust and indoor air
Abstract : Per- and polyfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are detected in humans worldwide but all sources of human exposure have not been fully characterized. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the contributions from food, water, air and dust as sources for human PFC exposure in the general population. READ MORE

12. Neonatal Exposure to Highly Brominated Diphenyl Ethers and Perfluorinated Compounds : Developmental Dependent Toxicity and Interaction
Abstract : This thesis investigated the developmental neurotoxic effects of neonatal exposure to highly brominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), alone or in combinations, during a critical period of the brains’ rapid growth and development, in mice. The compounds investigated were the decaBDE (PBDE 209), nonaBDE (PBDE 206), octaBDE (PBDE 203), heptaBDE (PBDE 183), and three PFCs, PFOS, PFOA, and PFDA. READ MORE

13. Human exposure to perfluoroalkyl acids
Abstract : Perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCAs) and perfluoroalkane sulfonic acids (PFSAs) are persistent organic contaminants which have been globally measured in human serum samples at low μg L-1 concentrations. One hypothesis, the so-called "indirect hypothesis", postulates that exposure to precursor compounds is responsible for the presence of PFCAs and PFSAs in human serum. READ MORE

14. Occupational exposure to fluorinated ski wax
Abstract : Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) are used in the production of ski wax to reduce the friction between the snow and the ski. In this occupational study of ski wax technicians’ exposure to PFAS and particulate aerosol we have collected whole blood (wb) (n =94), air (n =84) and aerosol (n =159) samples at World Cup events from 2007-2011. 15. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) – unravelling exposure sources and demographical exposure patterns in a Swedish adolescent population
Abstract : Per- and polyfluoroalkyl acids (PFAS) is a group of anthropogenic substances, with some suspected to cause adverse health effects in humans. Little is known about adolescent exposure to PFAS, thus this thesis focuses on exposure sources and demographical exposure patterns of PFAS in a nationally representative Swedish adolescent (age 10-21 years) population (Riksmaten Adolescents 2016-17).
