  1. 1. Governance structure for transport corridors

    Author : Maria Öberg; Björn Hasselgren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Architecture; Arkitektur;

    Abstract : Transport plays essential roles in almost all economic activities and our daily lives. Transport flows are often agglomerated in soͲcalled transport corridors linking urban and/or commercially important areas. READ MORE

  2. 2. Environmental Assessment Tools for Neighbourhoods and Buildings in relation to Environment, Architecture, and Architects

    Author : Marita Wallhagen; Göran Finnveden; Tove Malmqvist; Ola Eriksson; Josefin Wangel; Koen Steemers; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; architects; architecture; buildings; environment; environmental assessment tools; environmental sustainability; neighbourhoods; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Abstract : This thesis explores Neighbourhood and Building Environmental Assessment Tools’ (NBEATs’) function as assessment tools and decision support, and their relation to environment, architecture and architects. This is done by analysing, testing, and discussing a number of NBEATs (LEED-NC, Code for Sustainable Homes, EcoEffect, LEED-ND, BREEAM-C, and ENSLIC-tool), their manuals and use. READ MORE

  3. 3. Extreme environments - Design and human factors considerations

    Author : Olga Bannova; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Extreme environments; Engineering; Engineer; Architect; Design Planning; Architecture; Multidisciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Design and Planning; Human Factors;

    Abstract : The starting point of this research is based on my experience at SICSA performing research and design for extreme environments, including orbital and lunar planetary facilities, disaster shelters, polar stations and offshore surface and submersible habitats. This thesis explores what aspects and issues of design and planning processes in extreme environments have to be addressed in a similar way and therefore may be used as a basis for further work toward PhD thesis to develop a methodological planning tool or matrix. 4. 4. Toward a Sustainable Human-Robot Collaborative Production Environment

    Author : Abdullah Alhusin Alkhdur; Lihui Wang; Gunnar Bolmsjö; KTH; []
    Keywords : vision sensor; 3D image processing; collision detection; safety; robot; kinematics; dynamics; collaborative assembly; energy consumption; optimisation; manufacturing; Production Engineering; Industriell produktion;

    Abstract : This PhD study aimed to address the sustainability issues of the robotic systems from the environmental and social aspects. During the research, three approaches were developed: the first one an online programming-free model-driven system that utilises web-based distributed human-robot collaboration architecture to perform distant assembly operations. 5. 5. Scalability and Semantic Sustainability in Electronic Health Record Systems

    Author : Erik Sundvall; Håkan Örman; Magnus Borga; Hans Åhlfeldt; Dipak Kalra; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This work is a small contribution to the greater goal of making software systems used in healthcare more useful and sustainable. To come closer to that goal, health record data will need to be more computable and easier to exchange between systems. READ MORE
