This becomes particularly evident in breviaries, such as the Roman Catholic Church’s Liturgy of the Hours, where both entire psalms and individual verses have been omitted. READ MORE

2. Single-Photon Events in the DELPHI Experiment
Abstract : A series of studies pertaining to the STIC calorimeter at the DELPHI experiment at LEP is presented, and a new generation of fast wire scanners for emittance measurements at PS is described. The STIC studies are centered around a single-photon analysis, in which the reaction e+ e- -> gamma + invisible particles was studied at center-of-mass energies of 161, 172 and 183 GeV. READ MORE

3. Development of Laser-Spectroscopic Techniques for New Detection Schemes in Combustion Diagnostics
Abstract : The thesis work, aimed at the development of laser-spectroscopic detection schemes, consists of three parts, concerned with the development and application of different techniques. The development of UV filtered Rayleigh scattering (FRS) for thermometry and fuel/air ratio measurements, using a frequency tripled, single-longitudinal-mode alexandrite laser at ~254 nm together with an isotopically enhanced mercury filter, is examined first. 4. Renal cell carcinoma : factors of importance for follow-up and survival
Abstract : Background: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is most lethal of the urological cancers, with more than 40% dying of the disease. About 30% of the patients have metastases at initial diagnosis and up to 40% undergoing nephrectomy for localized RCC develop metastasis. READ MORE

5. On New Implants - The results of five prospective, randomized RSA trials with aspects on phased introduction and continuous migration
Abstract : A concern that arises with any change in design or operative technique is whether it affects the long-term implant stability or not. One way to address this is, by measuring early micromotion, to predict the future revision rate. READ MORE
