  1. 1. In vitro and in vivo studies on biodegradable matrices for autotransplantation

    Author : Carl-Johan Gustafson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : In vitro; in vivo; dermis; matrix; autotransplantation; culture; keratinocytes; urothelium; tissue engineering; PUUR; macroporous spheres ; guided tissue regeneration;

    Abstract : Tissue engineering (TE), one of the most rapidly growing fields of life science, is an interdisciplinary area in which technical, biological and medical expertise co-fertilize on another with the ultimate aim of restoring, maintaining or improving tissues and/or organs. This purpose links TE closely to research concerning reconstructive plastic surgery. READ MORE

  2. 2. Structure Dependent Chemical and Biological Interactions of Poly(urethane urea)s

    Author : Katrin Gisselfält; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biomaterial; synthesis; hydrogen bonding; biological interactions; structure; properties; poly urethane urea ;

    Abstract : Poly(urethane urea)s, PUURs, are widely used in both industrial and biological applications because of excellent physical and mechanical properties and good biocompatibility in a variety of applications. Both the processing and the tailoring of specific properties of PUUR demand great knowledge of structure-property relationships. READ MORE

  3. 3. Amphiphilic Polymers as Additives in Biomedical Polyurethanes. Surface Properties and Morphology

    Author : Maria Kober; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polymer micelles; phase separation; migration; poly ethylene oxide ; surface enrichment; morphology; polyurethane; additives; Surface modification; amphiphilic polymers; polymer blends; Polymer technology; biopolymers; Polymerteknik;

    Abstract : The aim of this work was to achieve surface modification of two biomedical polyurethanes and one poly(urethane urea) through the addition of small amounts of amphiphilic copolymers in solution. The matrix polymers used were the poly(ether urethane)s Pellethane 2363-80AE (P80) and 2363-75D (P75) and a poly(ether urethane urea) similar to Biomer (PUUR). READ MORE
