11. Drug Partitioning into Natural and Artificial Membranes : Data Applicable in Predictions of Drug Absorption
Abstract : When drug molecules are passively absorbed through the cell membrane in the small intestine, the first key step is partitioning of the drug into the membrane. Partition data can therefore be used to predict drug absorption. READ MORE

12. The Use of Aliquat-336 in a Partitioning and Transmutation Process and a Kinetic Study of the Oxidation of U(IV) to U(VI)
Abstract : Spent nuclear fuel contains several long-lived radionuclides that must be stored in a safe manner for a long time. Transmutation of these radionuclides into short-lived or stable nuclides reduces the necessary storage time by several orders of magnitude. The nuclides most suitable for transmutation are those of the actinides. READ MORE

13. Data Partitioning Methods and Parallel Block-Oriented PDE Solvers
Abstract : Data partitioning methods for block-structured problems within scientific computing have been studied. The applications are variational data assimilation in meteorology, ocean modeling, and airflow simulation with multiblock grids. READ MORE

14. Adaptive Resource Management Techniques for High Performance Multi-Core Architectures
Abstract : Reducing the average memory access time is crucial for improving the performance of applications executing on multi-core architectures. With workload consolidation this becomes increasingly challenging due to shared resource contention. Previous works has proposed techniques for partitioning of shared resources (e.g. READ MORE

15. Chromatographic Studies of Solute Interactions with Immobilized Red Blood Cells and Biomembranes
Abstract : Specific and non-specific interactions of solutes with immobilized biomembranes were studied using chromatographic methods. Liposomes, proteoliposomes and red blood cell (RBC) membrane vesicles were immobilized by a freeze-thawing procedure, whereas whole RBCs were adsorbed in the gel beds using electrostatic interaction, binding to wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) or the streptavidin-biotin interaction.
