  1. 1. Clinical Applications of Synthetic MRI of the Brain

    Author : Ida Blystad; Elna-Marie Larsson; Peter Lundberg; Marcel Warntjes; Örjan Smedby; Anne-Marie Landtblom; John Hald; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) has a high soft-tissue contrast with a high sensitivity for detecting pathological changes in the brain. Conventional MRI is a time-consuming method with multiple scans that relies on the visual assessment of the neuroradiologist. READ MORE

  2. 2. Inflammatory Response in Peripheral Arterial Disease

    Author : Peter Danielsson; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; muskelsystem; reumatologi; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; Skeleton; Polymorphism; Metabolism; Prostacyclin; Microdislysis; Diabetes mellitus; Revascularisation; Angioplasty; Endothelial cells; White blood cells; Inflammation; Peripheral Arterial Disease; muscle system;

    Abstract : Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is the manifestation of atherosclerotic lesions in arteries supplying blood to the legs. Atherosclerosis is now recognized as an inflammatory disease of the vessel wall and important features in the pathophysiology are activation of WBC, endothelial cells and increased levels of inflammatory mediators. 3. 3. In vivo properties of neural stem cells after transplantation into the rat brain-Studies of phenotypic differentiation and functional integration using cell-specific labelling and electrophysiological techniques

    Author : Ulrica Englund Johansson; Peter Eriksson; Lund Oftalmologi; []

    Abstract : In the present thesis, we have examined the in vivo properties of in vitro expanded human and rat neural stem-and progenitor cells after transplantation into the neonatal and adult rat brain. The survival and differentiation of the grafted cells were assessed using species-specific antisera, and pre-labelling with the reporter gene green fluorescent protein (GFP). READ MORE
