1. Development of separation methods for DNA sequencing and oligonucleotide analysis by capillary lectrophoresis
Abstract : This thesis describes the development of methods for theseparation of DNA sequencing fragments and otheroligonucleotides by capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), and isbased on live publications. In the first work [Il, an eightfold increase in lifetime ofultra-narrow bore (2-lo-micron ID) gel filled columns comparedto 50-micron ID columns at high electrical field strengths wasexperienced, presumably due to the better heat dissipationobtained in the former columns. 3. Wideband Active and Passive Antenna Solutions for Handheld Terminals
Abstract : This thesis presents solutions and studies related to the design of wideband antennas for wireless handheld terminal applications. A method of electrically shortening the terminal chassis length to obtain resonance at high frequencies has been proposed and evaluated, thereby increasing the antennas impedance bandwidth. READ MORE

4. Electron-Impact Liquid-Jet Water-Window X-ray Sources
Abstract : This Thesis describes the development and characterization of a soft x-ray liquidjet-anode electron-impact source. With a water-jet target the primary emission is the O Kα line at 525 eV. This is close to the lower edge of the water-window, a spectral region lacking simple laboratory sources. READ MORE

5. Viruses as a Model System for Studies of Eukaryotic mRNA Processing
Abstract : Viruses depend on their hosts for the production and spread of new virus particles. For efficient virus replication, the viral genes have adapted the strategy of being recognized and processed by the cellular biosynthetic machineries. Viruses therefore provide an important tool to study the cellular machinery regulating gene expression. READ MORE
