  1. 1. Pipeline Analog-Digital Converters Dynamic Error Modeling for Calibration : Integral Nonlinearity Modeling, Pipeline ADC Calibration, Wireless Channel K-Factor Estimation

    Author : Samer Medawar; Peter Händel; Niclas Björsell; Magnus Jansson; Dominique Dallet; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Analog-digital converter; integral nonlinearity; calbiration; K-factor estimation;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the characterization, modeling and calibration of pipeline analog-digital converters (ADC)s. The integral nonlinearity (INL) is characterized, modeled and the model is used to design a post-correction block in order to compensate the imperfections of the ADC. READ MORE

  2. 2. Floating-Point Analog-to-Digital Converter

    Author : Johan Piper; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics and Electrical technology; matching; binary weighting; dynamic range; resolution; distortion; pipeline; A D-converter; floating-point; Elektronik och elektroteknik;

    Abstract : To deal with the wide dynamic rage necessary for a radio receiver or corresponding applications, but to avoid impractically high resolution at high data rates, the approach of using a floating-point analog-to-digital converter (FP-ADC) has been investigated. This approach de-links the dynamic range with the resolution, and a very wide dynamic range can be achieved by an ADC with a moderate resolution. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modeling and post-correction of pipeline analog-digital converters

    Author : Samer Medawar; Peter Händel; Martin Gustafsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Integral nonlinearity (INL) for pipelined analog-digital converters (ADCs) operating at radio frequency is measured and characterized. A parametric model for the INL of pipelined ADCs is proposed and the corresponding least-squares problem is formulated and solved. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design of High-Speed Analog-to-Digital Converters using Low-Accuracy Components

    Author : Timmy Sundström; Atila Alvandpour; Jan-Erik Eklund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The scaling of CMOS technologies has increased the performance of general purpose processors and DSPs. However, analog circuits designed in the same process have not been able to utilize the scaling to the same extent, suffering from reduced voltage headroom and reduced analog gain. READ MORE

  5. 5. Energy-Efficient Data Converters for Low-Power Sensors

    Author : Kairang Chen; Atila Alvandpour; Ana Rusu; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are employed in many applications, such as for monitoring bio-potential signals and environmental information. These applications require high-resolution (> 12-bit) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) at low-sampling rates (several kS/s). READ MORE
