  1. 1. Resonances of Dirac Operators

    Author : Jimmy Kungsman; Wolfgang Staubach; Roman Schubert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Semiclassical analysis; Dirac operator; resonances; Poisson trace formula; scattering theory; complex absorbing potential; pseudodifferential operator; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of a summary of four papers dealing with resonances of Dirac operators on Euclidean 3-space. In Paper I we show that the Complex Absorbing Potential (CAP) method is valid in the semiclassical limit for resonances sufficiently close to the real line if the potential is smooth and compactly supported. 2. 2. Summation formulae and zeta functions

    Author : Johan Andersson; Mikael Passare; Aleksandar Ivic; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; zeta function; summation formula; automorphic form; modular group; Kloosterman sum; Selberg theory; power sum method; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : This thesis in analytic number theory consists of 3 parts and 13 individual papers.In the first part we prove some results in Turán power sum theory. We solve a problem of Paul Erdös and disprove conjectures of Paul Turán and K. Ramachandra that would have implied important results on the Riemann zeta function. READ MORE

  3. 3. Contributions to High–Dimensional Analysis under Kolmogorov Condition

    Author : Jolanta Maria Pielaszkiewicz; Dietrich von Rosen; Martin Singul; Thomas Holgersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Eigenvalue distribution; free moments; free Poisson law; Marchenko-Pastur law; random matrices; spectral distribution; Wishart matrix; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis is about high–dimensional problems considered under the so{called Kolmogorov condition. Hence, we consider research questions related to random matrices with p rows (corresponding to the parameters) and n columns (corresponding to the sample size), where p > n, assuming that the ratio  converges when the number of parameters and the sample size increase.
