1. Oil-related Particle Emissions from Diesel Engines
Abstract : In recent decades much effort has gone into reducing particle emissions in the exhaust gases of heavy-duty diesel engines. Engine development has now reached the stage where it is worth to put heavy focus on the contribution of lubricating oil to particulate emissions in order to further reduce these emissions. READ MORE

2. Multimethod aerodynamic research of engine-realistic turbine rear structures
Abstract : Despite the significant advancements in aircraft engine technology over the past years, the aerodynamics of engine-realistic turbine rear structures (TRS) remain largely unexplored. The TRS, a structural and aerodynamic component situated downstream of the low-pressure turbine (LPT), plays a pivotal role in engine aerodynamic performance, deswirling the LPT flow to maximize the engine thrust. 3. Molecular Exchange in Colloidal Dispersions
Abstract : This thesis is a study of molecular exchange between the aggregates in a colloidal dispersion. The problem of oil molecular transport at resolubilization of big oil drops by smaller microemulsion droplets is considered as an experimental model system. READ MORE

4. Parameters affecting the functionality of additives in lubricated contacts : effect of base oil polarity
Abstract : Traditionally rolling contact fatigue observed in bearing field applications was subsurface initiated. However, despite the improvement of steel properties, some factors such as downsizing in bearing design, extreme loading of the bearings as well as demanding application conditions (start up-stop cycles) have led to an increase on the cases of surface damage related to surface initiated fatigue, that comes basically from surface distress. 5. Lipase-Catalysed Lipid Modifications in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide
Abstract : The production of ethyl esters (EE) from ethanol and cod-liver oil by an immobilised lipase in supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCO2) is described. This reaction results in a complex mixture of lipid components consisting of triglycerides, diglycerides, monoglycerides and ethyl esters. READ MORE
