  1. 1. Real-time Locating Systems for indoor applications : the methodological customization approach

    Author : Bartosz Jachimczyk; Wlodek Kulesza; Alfonso Bahillo Martínez; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accuracy and Precision; Angle of Arrival; Fingerprinting Method; Indoor Localization; Indoor Positioning System; Multi-Sensor System; Neural Network; Radio Frequency Identification - RFID; Real Time Locating System; Received Signal Strength; RFID Network Planning; Scene Analysis; Sensors Arrangement; System Customization; Uncertainty; Uncertainty Map; User Driven Design;

    Abstract : Emerging wireless technologies increase the potential and effectiveness of wireless Real-time Locating Systems (RTLSs), which precisely localize the position, and identify things and people in real time. Among many applications, RTLSs are widely used in the industrial sector for indoor logistics and safety applications. READ MORE

  2. 2. Type Domains for Abstract Interpretation : A critical study

    Author : Per Mildner; Jonas Barklund; Håkan Millroth; Roland Bol; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datalogi; Computing Science;

    Abstract : Programming languages with dynamic typing such as Prolog do not require that the programmer declares the types of data or procedures. This flexibility, however, comes at a price. The lack of declarations makes it hard for a compiler to produce fast code since data must be assumed to be of any type. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mathematical Methods for Image Based Localization

    Author : Klas Josephson; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multiple View Geometry; Image Based Localization; Computer Vision; Gröbner Basis; Minimal Problems;

    Abstract : The underlying question in localization is, where am I? In this thesis a purely image based approach is proposed to solve this problem. In order to create a complete image based system, there are many subproblems that have to be addressed. The localization problem can also be solved in other ways, for example, with a GPS. READ MORE

  4. 4. Automating STED microscopy for functional and structural live-cell imaging

    Author : Jonatan Alvelid; Ilaria Testa; Eggeling Christian; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; STED; microscopy; nanoscopy; super-resolution microscopy; automation; image analysis; fluorophores; Biologisk fysik; Biological Physics;

    Abstract : Optical microscopy imaging methods are today invaluable tools for studies in life sciences as they allow visualization of biological systems, tissues, cells, and sub-cellular compartments from millimetres down to nanometres. The invention and development of nanoscopy in the past 20 years has pushed fluorescence microscopy down to the nanoscale, reaching beyond the natural diffraction limit of light that does not allow focusing of visible light below sizes of around 200 nm, and into the realm of what was previously only thought possible with electron microscopy. 5. 5. Efficient Information Visualization of Multivariate and Time-Varying Data

    Author : Jimmy Johansson; Mikael Jern; Matthew Cooper; Helwig Hauser; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information visualization; parallel coordinates; interactive analysis; multivariate data; time-varying data; GPU; hardware graphics; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : Data can be found everywhere, for example in the form of price, size, weight and colour of all products sold by a company, or as time series of daily observations of temperature, precipitation, wind and visibility from thousands of stations. Due to their size and complexity it is intrinsically hard to form a global overview and understanding of them. READ MORE
