  1. 1. Supporting long-term production development : Towards production platforms

    Author : Simon Boldt; Carin Rösiö; Gary Linnéusson; Lennart Malmsköld; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; production development; production platforms; long-term; perspective; changeability; integrated product and production development; manufacturing; produktionsutveckling; produktionsplattformar; långsiktigt perspektiv; förändringsbarhet; integrerad produkt och produktionsutveckling; tillverkning;

    Abstract : With shrinking product life cycles and increasing competitive pressure, the traditional way of developing production systems is becoming obsolete. A longer-term perspective that considers the stream of product realisation projects to be implemented in the production system over its lifetime is required. READ MORE

  2. 2. Laser welding of boron steels for light-weight vehicle applications

    Author : Karl Fahlström; Lars-Erik Svensson; Leif Karlsson; Jens Klaestrup Kristensen; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser welding; boron steel; high strength steels; strength reduction; brittle behavior; crack susceptibility; distortions; light-weight; quality; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik;

    Abstract : Laser beam welding has gained a significant interest during the last two decades. The suitability of the process for high volume production has the possibility to give a strong advantage compared to several other welding methods. However, it is important to have the process in full control since various quality issues may otherwise occur. READ MORE

  3. 3. Technology Transfer within Related Offset Business : From an Aircraft Production Perspective

    Author : Joakim Storck; Bengt Lindberg; Christer Johansson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Steel production; system dynamics; product variety; production strategy; cost models; Manufacturing engineering; Produktionsteknik;

    Abstract : Steel producers that employ niche market strategies are continuously seeking to reduce production cost while maintaining adiverse product mix. The business model is typically based onmarketing of high–strength special or stainless steels. READ MORE

  5. 5. Production Ergonomics: Identifying and managing risk in the design of high performance work systems

    Author : Patrick Neumann; Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reumatologi; Organizational science; Organisationsteori; Production technology; Produktionsteknik; muskelsystem; Skelett; rheumatology locomotion; muscle system; Skeleton; Risk Assessment; Manufacturing; Musculoskeletal disorders; Human Factors; Organisational Development; Production System Design; Strategy;

    Abstract : Poor ergonomics in production systems can compromise performance and cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which pose a huge cost to society, companies, and afflicted individuals. This thesis presents a research trajectory through the problem space by: 1) Identifying and quantifying workplace risk factors for MSDs, 2) Identifying how these risks may relate to production strategies, and 3) Developing an approach to integrating ergonomics into a companies’ regular development work.
