  1. 1. Multifunctional magnetic materials prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition

    Author : Sandeep Nagar; Lyuba Belova; K. Venkat Rao; Prashanth Kamath; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Magnetic materials; thin films; pulsed laser depsoition; spintronics; chromites; MgO; NEMS; MEMS;

    Abstract :      Pulsed LASER deposition (PLD) is widely recognized as excellent deposition technique owing to stoichiometric transfer of target material, easy preparation and high quality. Thin films from few nanometers to micrometer regime can be fabricated with equal ease. READ MORE

  2. 2. Pulsed laser deposition and nanofabrication of mesoscopic devices based on cuprates and manganites

    Author : Roberto de Andrés Prada; Vladimir M. Krasnov; Christian Bernhard; Taras Golod; Dag Winkler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cuprates; manganites; pulsed laser deposition; nano-fabrication; heterostructures; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the growth, the nano-fabrication and the study of the magneto-transport properties of Superconductor/Ferromagnet/Superconductor (SFS) structures from complex oxides such as the high Tc superconducting cuprate YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and the ferromagnetic manganites La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 and La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (LCMO and LSMO), deposited with the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique.The present work has been possible thanks to the collaboration between the “Magnetism and Superconductivity” Group at the University of Fribourg, in Switzerland, and the “Experimentell Kondenserade Materiens Fysik” Group at Stockholm University, in Sweden. 5. 5. Interaction mechanisms for a laser-induced metallic boiling front

    Author : Ramiz Saeed Matti Samarjy; Alexander F.H. Kaplan; Torbjörn Ilar; Michael Schmidt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser remote fusion cutting; Boiling front; High speed imaging; Additive manufacturing; Ejection; Absorption; Wavy surface; Deposition; Produktionsutveckling; Manufacturing Systems Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis is about fundamental interaction mechanisms of laser remote fusion cutting, RFC, which is based on the formation of a quasi-stationary laser-induced boiling front that causes drop ejection, preferably downwards. Laser cutting of metals, invented in 1967, has developed from a niche to a well established high quality cutting technique in the manufacturing industry. READ MORE
