  1. 1. Hybrid Routing in Next Generation IP Networks : QoS Routing Mechanisms and Network Control Strategies

    Author : Antoine B Bagula; Björn Pehrson; Bukhard Stiller; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teletraffic systems; Teletrafiksystem;

    Abstract : Communication networks have evolved from circuit-switched and hop-by-hop routed systems into hybrid data/optical networks using the Internet as a common backbone carrying narrow- and broad-band traffic offered by a multitude of access networks. This data/optical backbone is built around a multi-technology/multi-protocol routing architecture which runs the IP protocols in a collapsed IP stack where ATM and SONET/SDH have been replaced by the suite of Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) protocols. 2. 2. Context-based Resource Management and Architectures for Future Wide and Local Area Wireless Networks

    Author : Pietro Lungaro; Jens Zander; Frank H.P Fitzek; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : In the last few years we have been witnessing the beginning of a revolution in the world of wireless communication. The recent launch of advanced smartphones in the mobile market has been welcomed by mobile operators as an opportunity to finally fulfill the promises of 3G and increase the uptake of mobile services. 3. 3. Efficient and systematic network resource management

    Author : Muslim Elkotob; Anna Brunström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pervasive Mobile Computing; Distribuerade datorsystem;

    Abstract : The demand for network resources (e.g. forwarding capacity, buffer space) by increasingly used real-time multimedia applications is growing. Moreover, their stringent performance requirements (e. READ MORE

  4. 4. On Overload Control and Performance Agreements in a Parlay/OSA Environment

    Author : Jens K Andersson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; systems; numerical analysis; Computer science; Parlay OSA; Overload Control; Performance Agreements; control; Datalogi; numerisk analys; system; kontroll; Telecommunication engineering; Telekommunikationsteknik;

    Abstract : Parlay/OSA is a service architecture for current and next generation telecommunication networks. A gateway provides the applications with abstracted network functionality via Application Programming Interfaces. This facilitates the creation of telecommunication services and applications from independent software developers. READ MORE

  5. 5. System Architectures and Trade-offs for an Internet of Things Network

    Author : Shailesh Pratap Singh; Lars Lundberg; Nauman bin Ali; Yulia Sidorova; Jesper Andersson; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Internet of Things; IoT; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : The emerging scenarios and use cases for the Internet of Things (IoT) and the latest developments of 5G and beyond networks envision a connected world with diverse stakeholders as an integral and dynamic part of it. The synergistic coming together of the different stakeholders also brings along with it different values, requirements, and policies that need to be orchestrated in an automated and agile manner.
