1. Photoelectron Spectroscopy of High Temperature Superconductors and Related Compounds
Abstract : In this thesis, the high temperature superconductors (HTSC) Ba0.6K0.4BiO3, La2CuO4+x, Bi2Sr2Ca1-xYxCu2O 8+d, Bi2Sr2CuO6+d as well as semiconducting Ba0.9K0. READ MORE

2. Core Level Spectroscopy of Water and Ice
Abstract : A core level spectroscopy study of ice and water is presented in this thesis. Combining a number of experiments and spectrum calculations based on density functional theory, changes in the local valence electronic structure are shown to be sensitive to the local H-bonding configurations. 3. Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Cuprates and Manganites
Abstract : Abstract In this thesis, the high temperature superconductors (HTSC) La2CuO4+x and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d and the colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) La1-xSrxMnO3 have been studied by photoelectron spectroscopy. Techniques such as angular resolved photoemission (ARPES), resonant photoemission spectroscopy (RESPES) and x-ray absorption spectroscopy have been applied, using synchrotron radiation. READ MORE

4. Free Clusters Studied by Synchrotron-Based X-ray Spectroscopy: From Rare Gases to Metals
Abstract : The main topic of this Thesis is the x-ray spectroscopic studies of free nano-clusters with size more than 10^3 atoms. The photoelectron spectroscopy experiments on rare gas and metal clusters were performed at beamline I411 at MAX-lab National Swedish synchrotron radiation facility. Free rare-gas clusters are simplest objects in cluster research. READ MORE

5. Metal-Organic Complexes at Surfaces
Abstract : The adsorption of different metal-organic complexes at surfaces was investigated by spectroscopic techniques (x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant photoemission spectroscopy) and by scanning tunnelling microscopy. The investigation methods are able to provide atomic scale information on the studied systems, which moreover originates from the top-most atomic layers in a sample, meaning that they are surface sensitive techniques.
