  1. 1. Transport and environment incentive policy instruments : effects and interactions

    Author : Xing Liu; Lars Hultkrantz; James Odeck; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Congestion pricing; Equity effects; Modal choice; Social marginal cost; Externalities; Transport taxation; Carbon tax; Carbon leakage; Computable General Equilibrium Model; VTTS; Simultaneous decision model; Random utility model; Logistics cost minimization; Additionality; Klimp; Climate subsidy program; Subsidy; CDM; Business Studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Abstract : This dissertation studies issues related to the evaluation of the effects and interactions of transport and environmental incentive policy instruments. Essay 1: Green cars sterilize congestion charges: a model analysis of the reduced impact of Stockholm road tolls calibrates a modal-choice model with data from the Stockholm road toll and uses it to study the sensitivity of congestion toll effects to some seemly subtle changes in the toll system design and external circumstances. 2. 2. Correlated random effects models for clustered survival data

    Author : Frank Eriksson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; competing risks; case-cohort; semiparametric; Survival analysis; random effects; routine register; frailty model; Survival analysis; frailty model; competing risks; random effects; case-cohort; routine register; semiparametric;

    Abstract : Frailty models are frequently used to analyse clustered survival data in medical contexts. The frailties, or random effects, are used to model the association between individual survival times within clusters. READ MORE

  4. 4. Essays on random effects models and GARCH

    Author : Jimmy Skoglund; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of four essays, three in the field of random effects models and one in the field of GARCH. The first essay in this thesis, ''Maximum likelihood based inference in the two-way random effects model with serially correlated time effects'', considers maximum likelihood estimation and inference in the two-way random effects model with serial correlation. 5. 5. Contributions to Small Area Estimation : Using Random Effects Growth Curve Model

    Author : Innocent Ngaruye; Martin Singull; Dietrich von Rosen; Tapio Nummi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This dissertation considers Small Area Estimation with a main focus on estimation and prediction for repeated measures data. The demand of small area statistics is for both cross-sectional and repeated measures data. READ MORE
