  1. 1. Post-Ischemic Housing Conditions Influence On Gene Transcription And Translation After Permanent Focal Brain Ischemia In Rats

    Author : Li-Ru Zhao; Sektion IV; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rats; brain-derived neurotrophic factor; mRNA; nerve growth factor-induced gene A; corticosteroid receptors; in situ hybridization; Neurologi; neurophysiology; Neurology; neuropsychology; brain ischemia; enriched environment; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Abstract : Enriched environment (EE) housing significantly ameliorates neurological deficits induced by cortical brain ischemia without changing infarction size, suggesting that EE-related functional benefits are associated with neuronal plasticity events in the remaining tissue. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), nerve growth factor-induced gene A (NGFI-A) and corticosteroid receptors (mineralocorticoid receptor, MR; glucocorticoid receptor, GR) have been demonstrated to be involved in brain plasticity. 2. 2. Thermal and Mechanical Behaviors of High Temperature Coatings

    Author : Kang Yuan; Lin Peng Ru; Xin-Hai Li; Sten Johansson; Yan-dong Wang; Nicolaie Markocsan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : With superior oxidation and corrosion resistance, metallic coatings (i.e. diffusion coatings and MCrAlX coatings) are widely used to protect hot components made of superalloys in turbine engines. READ MORE

  3. 3. Residual Stresses and Fatigue of Shot Peened Cast Iron

    Author : Mattias Lundberg; Lin Peng Ru; Sten Johansson; Taina Vuoristo; Daniel Bäckström; Maqsood Ahmad; Jens Bergström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The complex geometry of cylinder head in heavy-duty diesel engine makes grey cast iron or compact graphite iron a perfect material choice due to its castability, thermal conductivity and damping capacity. To increase the efficiency of the engine, the fatigue property of the material needs to be improved. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the Microstructures and Anisotropic Mechanical Behaviours of Additively Manufactured IN718

    Author : Dunyong Deng; Johan Moverare; Ru Lin Peng; Jian Zhang; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, offers great design flexibility for manufacturing components with complex geometries, and has attracted significant interest in the aero and energy industries in the past decades. Among the commercial AM processes, selective laser melting (SLM) and electron beam melting (EBM) are the two most widely used ones for metallic materials. READ MORE

  5. 5. Genetic diversity and differentiation in natural and managed stands of Norway spruce (Picea abies)

    Author : Helena Eklöf; Pär K. Ingvarsson; Xiao-Ru Wang; Carolina Bernhardsson; Katri Kärkkäinen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Norway spruce; Picea abies; forestry; genetic diversity; seed orchards; forest management; WGS; GBS; sequencing; PoolSeq; capture probes; genetic differentiation;

    Abstract : Being one of Sweden’s most important tree species, both as a keystone species and for the forest industry, it is important that we keep our stands of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) as healthy as possible. READ MORE
